Engagement announcement advice?

My fiance and I are having our engagement pics taken this week and putting an announcement in the paper. We are having a problem though. My parents are still together, however, his mother is deceased and his father has remarried. We do not want to exclude the step-mother, but don't want it worded to where it comes across as her being his mother. Need suggestions on wording for him. I have looked on websites but they all have samples for deceased parents but not w/the other parent remarried too. Please help! Thanks in advance!!

You could do son of Mr. Smith and Mrs. Smith and then and back slash and honor of Mrs. (first name) Smith. This way she does not get left out nor un honored. Also I know a lot of places you can register and add a contribution to a certain charity. This might be a nice touch. Just a thought. Congrats/good luck!

It relies upon on what you're doing-are you attempting to tell human beings to save the date for the reception? if so use commonplace save the date wording and templates allowing them to save the date for the reception. once you're asserting your engagement in basic terms you do not positioned any information on the subject of the marriage on it. in basic terms state Bride and Groom joyfully announce their engagement as of March 10, 2007. i think of save the dates are greater useful yet engagement bulletins help unfold the word, quite to friends and relatives you do not see lots. wedding ceremony bulletins come after the marriage and are generally used now in case you had a small ceremony and reception or holiday spot wedding ceremony with very few human beings. you may then announce which you 2 at the instant are formally a pair, your new handle, and the call of latest couple (i.e. if the female adjustments her final call.)

Joe Smith, son of the late Mary Smith and Fred Smith - don't include your stepmother's name.
