The Rebellious Son
Deuteronomy 21:18-21

18If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:

19Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;

20And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.

21And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Here are some gems...

Genesis 6:7-24: God is angry, commits genocide by world wide flood.

Genesis 19:14: An angry mob comes wanting some guests in Lot's home. Lot's a good host, so he offers his virgin daughters to the mob instead.

Exodus 12:12-20: A despotic leader of Egypt does not comply with God's will, so God sends the Angel of Death to kill all the firstborn children. Oh, and the firstborn animals. It's unclear of God aborts pre-first-born fetuses.

Leviticus 26:22: God is pissed at parents, kills their children.

Numbers 31:15-19: When you go to war, kill the men and their families. But single women you can make into sex slaves!

Joshua 10:26: When you kill people, hang them from trees as a warning to others.

2 Samuel 4:12: David, acting on behalf of God, cuts off the hands and feet of his enemies and hangs the victims up for everyone to see.

2 Kings 6:28-29: Eat your children. Literally. Tasty!

Psalms 137:9: Happiness is throwing "little ones" upon the rocks.

Oh, but there are so many!

I think some of the more gruesome stories were found in the Old Testament. Violence seemed to have been an art form in some of the regions. Humans were particularly gruesome to each other!

The saddest story I know of is the story of a wandering Levite and his common-law wife (at the end of 2 Chronicles). He surrenders her to a rape gang to save his own miserable hide, then calls out the rest of the country in a savage civil war to avenge her death. Anarchy at its worst!

You can start where God drowns 99.9999% of humanity - including children and pregnant women. (I wonder what Noah thought when he saw the bloated bodies of all those innocents?)
Anyway, after that you can think about the killing of the Egyptian first-born, the wholesale slaughter of various tribes - again including the women & children, the cruel "test" that cost Job, among other things, the life of all his children, and on, and on
And then there are those quaint little stoning to death and hand-chopping laws.

That's for starters. I wonder if Stephen King had a hand in this?

This is a pretty gruesome story if that's what you are looking for.

"Now as the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried out to him, saying, "Help, my lord, O king!" And he said, "If the LORD will not help you, how shall I help you? From the threshing floor, or from the winepress?" And the king asked her, "What is your trouble?" She answered, "This woman said to me, 'Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.' So we boiled my son and ate him. And on the next day I said to her, 'Give your son, that we may eat him.' But she has hidden her son." 2 Kings 6:26-29

Lots of stories from the Book of Judges on the detailed killings of so many people, and how Deborah murdered the evil master of the country.

The one that first jumps to mind is Judges 19 - the raped and butchered concubine as squirrelcatcher said.

A very similiar story is of Lot offering his virgin daughters to the mob in place of his angelic guests.

WTF?!? Neither the Levite nor Lot goes out and says, "Do with me as you will, but leave my family and guests unharmed." He goes out and says you can have my girl(s) instead of my guest(s).

Malachi 2:3 Behold, I will corrupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your solemn feasts; and one shall take you away with it.

How about the story of "Noah's Ark" where God killed everyone on the face of the Earth and then made some other guy clean up his mess.
