I've read the other reponses to similar questions about card errors. And, perhaps I'm just searching for an impossible answer. But, here it goes. I'm really hoping someone can help. I connected my SD memory card through a card reader. I was transferring files from my computer TO the card (pic files, which I've done successfully before). But, I started getting some sort of error. And the computer was doing weird things as well. So, I stopped, pulled out the card and tried to put it back in my camera, which is when I received the card error message. Now nothing will read on the camera or on the card reader- the computer says the card is not formatted and asks if I want to do so now. I have some very important pics on there that had yet to be transferred onto my computer (a wedding, a goodbye party, and others). If there is ANY way I might be able to get those pics back, please help me! Is there some sort of recovery program I could use? Thank you very much for your help!!

Well, after further research, contrary to what most people were telling me here, my photos WERE recoverable. Most of them, anyhow. If you do a Yahoo search for "Memory Card Recovery", you will find numerous responses. Or, go to Download.com and do the same search. There are both free and paid programs. For free programs, the best I tried was Art Plus' Digital Photo Recovery, though I also tried (and paid for) PhotoRescue. Honestly, I got about the same results with both. A note for anyone else confronted with this problem: when using this software, if you don't get all your pics back with the first run of the program, run it again. I got better results after trying it a second time. Hope this helps anyone else who finds themselves in the same predicament.

This not sound good. If, the card erred after putting into the Camera, then there may have been a problem with the computer and card. Which may have caused damage. But, you could try the Web-Site of the camera or Card and look in support or contact them (like we really will get a reply), this all I can say. I hate to hear this, I know pictures are important, and, if, we lose, well, there no going back for more.

You probably have a memory card error because of the way you have been deleting your images (or if you have never bothered to format your card). You should Format your memory card after you have uploaded all images to your computer. Doing this deletes the images the correct way...and also prevents card corruption or errors. And don't forget to also Format a brand new memory card before you use it. Your user manual will show you how to format your card...

I'm not fully understanding this. You were sending pictures that were on your computer to the card. Then the error occured, and you removed the devices.

If that is correct, then you should still have the images on your computer.

If that is not correct, then you're probably out of luck, and need to call either the place where you bought the chip, or the company it self directly, to take a look at it by their techs (assuming there is a warranty and the place does that kind of stuff)

I don't think you can if the memory card is having problems. But you can always call the company or find some infomation on the manual if you have one. If not, there's nothing you can do.

Go here and tell them the pertenant info on your card. I can't do it for you, I don't have all the info.
