I chose my faith. My parents and I were not believers while I grew up. But, my mom got hired as a secretary at a church. I began attending the youth group at the church and was the first person in my family to accept Jesus. Then my mom. Then my dad. No one forced me; I decided on my own. Not only that but I have since researched my faith, and spent 4 years of college studying my faith further; now I am the youth director for my church. :) Good question!

It may have started out as following my parents' religion. I came to a crossroads in life, somewhere around age 18. I chose my beliefs. Then the whole system that I've built on collapsed becasue of a major dissapointment in my father. At age 26, I had to really reevaluate my beliefs and why I believe what I believe. And again, I chose my beliefs. I beleive people need to choose alone not becasue it's the norm.

The foundation of my beliefs are what I grew up with, but not what my parents believed in. Some minor things have changed through the years, but the essence is still the same.
My deities chose me, but I chose the religion that allows me to worship them in a way that I feel is right for the relationship that I have/want with them.

I chose to follow Christ. I had no religious upbringing. Just a mormon influence. I ask God one night for some help and the next day a lady I worked with invited me to go to church. She said that God told her that she needed to invite me. I went, gave my heart to Jesus and have not been the same seance.

Both. I was raised in my religion by my parents. When I was middle-aged, I left the church. Years later, I decided to fill the huge void left in my life, and returned. I am now 100% happier and at peace with myself and my decision.

I tried to learn about other religions, and I try to follow my conscious. God endowed human beings with the ability to question what is given to them so they can learn and figure out for themselves, with the help of whatever culture is around.

I'm neither. I'm an Atheist, which isn't a religion.
I also chose to be an Atheist after growing up in the church.
