can anyone tell of any prophecies that have come true in the bible. something that would be on record for me to look at.

Please don't use the bible as a reference . I'm talking about other documented sources with references of the actual event and descriptions. even if you cannot provide a reference tell me the prophecy that you have learned about that has been fufilled.

n9wff** If you need the bible which states that these prophecies will come true, then the prophecies only begin and end in the bible. If they are true, then there will be documented account of them somewhere.

Someone's going to bring up the "end days," but I just find it interesting that it's 2000 years later and they still haven't happened yet. :-P

Ok, so I'm going to say the end days, but I have more than just look around. First of all, it says in, I believe Revelation, that Babylon will, in the end days, be the central place for decisions, and such in the WORLD. Well, just a little while ago the United nations decided to move their metting place. They're not sure exactlly where, but guess what's on top of their list, you guessed it BABYLON. Secondly, it says in the end days their will be many earthquakes, natural disasters, wars and rumors of wars. Can you say, Katrina, last years Tsunami, or 9/11. Not to mention the fact we are about on the brink of ww3. Next, it says there will be a nuclear war in the end days, well I'd say we're pretty close. And lastly, in Revelation it says in the end days the world will try to make peace and come together under the same currency. Did you know they are 2 years into building a freeway that connects the North and South American continents, know why? Because they want us to come together, to become ONE BIG peaceful world once and for all. But it will never happen, because Christ is coming before that, and he's coming soon!

Daniel 10:10-12:13 is the explanation of the vision in the previous verses. It explains in clear terms the meaning of the strange vision and goes beyond it more into the future. It explains the rise of medo persia after babylon and greece after it. It even describes the king who dies and has his country divided by 4 generals.(Alexander the Great) These are historical events that can be verified and were predicted well before those countries rose to power. The part that comes after that hasn't fully occured yet and won't until Jesus returns, but the prophecies about the nations gives me confidence I can believe what the Bible says.

Daniel is a good start. He prophecy's was about a march of governments that is so perfect as to what happened you can't believe that he wasn't there.
Go to Daniel 7: He starts telling this king of Babylon about these beasts. Which always represent governments. 4 beasts will come after him. Won't go into all of them but if you go through the march of the world powers you will see Daniel describes them.
Daniel 7:6 is one way after his time, by thousands of years.
It would be Alexander the Great and not having any heirs his kingdom went to 4 generals. verse 7 was Rome like iron crushing and grinding everything.
Daniel in another vision like this one goes on to describe the kingdom after Rome. Daniel 2:41 Talks about the kingdom after rome as divided and mixed with the off spring of mankind that would be a duel world power of USA and britian. With feet of clay. Another interesting part of this prophecy is that it stops with USA as the last power the world ever sees.
Daniel 2:44 says in the days of those kings [this duel world power] the god of heaven will set up a kingdom that will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms and it it self will stand to time indefinite. or even forever. Read Daniel along with a history book it is very exciting to see how far down in the stream of time we are to the end. This world is about to end.

When you speak of prophecies, you must be referring to Biblical prophecies that have come true and can be independantly verified by history.

In Isaiah 45, the prophecy of Cyrus King of Persia who overthrew Babylon can be verified by history. Cyrus was named by Isaiah 150 years before Cyrus was even born. Cyrus was to be the one who set Israel free from Babylonian rule and allowed the Jews to return to Jerusalem. In addition, Isaiah even tells how Cyrus would conquer Babylon, by diverting the waters of the Euphrates that flowed through the city, Cyrus was able to sneak in under the gates. The inner gates were not barred because the Babylonians were having a drunken feast. The story of the defeat of Babylon by King Cyrus is preserved in history in the Cyrus cylinder kept in the British Museum, a replica is kept in the United Nations in the hallway leading to the security council chamber

We'll Jesus is my first proof he is metioned in it everywere.
Here is something a little difference.

Zep 2:7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.

In 1948 the tribe of Judah (now Israel) became a nation on that coast, And Ashkelon is a city in it. If you look in history really hard you can find that it proves a lot of who peole really are to day. Sucha s the tribe of Judah and the lost tribes of Israel. God Promised that Abrahans seed would become pat of all nations.

You can look that up on-line. There are so many books available. Who carries all these prophecies and dates around in their head?
One book I have is "Jesus, Prophecy and the Middle East" by Dr Annis A. Shorrosh. It was written by a Palestinian (believe it or not) who became a Christian. He holds 2 doctorates in religion. His book can answer your question.

I would suggest starting with the prophecy of the Messiah, Christ, being crucified and tortured from the book of Isaiah. The crucifixion of Christ is historic fact attested to by more documents than the Bible (e.g., Jewish historian Josephus).
