There is a language called Sentinel or Sentinelese. It is spoken on Sentinel Island in the Andaman Islands of the Indian Ocean, which are administered by India. The Sentinelese will kill anyone who comes onto their island, so the Indian government doesn't send anyone there. No Sentinelese ever leave their island. No one else speaks Sentinel and no one on Sentinel speaks any other language. No grammars or dictionaries of any kind have ever been published about Sentinel. Sentinel is therefore the hardest language to learn because it is IMPOSSIBLE to learn.

On these sorts of lists, English usually scores pretty high. Our grammar and spelling make no sense whatsoever, and our vocabulary is complicated. Our language is basically German structure with a bunch of French words thrown in, and then a bit of whatever we've come across along the way. It's really hard for non-native speakers to learn because every rule has at least one or two exceptions.
The language of the !Kung would be pretty hard, too. Those guys are the tribe that use clicks of the tongue as part of their language. It's such a different concept that I think it'd be hard for most others to deal with. We'd have to not only learn to listen for subtle differences in sounds we don't even use, but our mouths probably wouldn't be able to manage most of the sounds. I mean, we make big deals about the tonal nature of some Eastern languages, so I can't imagine dealing with one that uses completely different kinds of sounds.

It depends :
- French because of it's grammar and all its rules
- Mandarin because of all the words that sound alive. One sound, let's say "ma" can mean depending on the way you pronounce it a lot of things : mother, horse, the mark for a question, to wipe, to insulte and many others
- Japanese because of all the different ways of writing : hiragana, katakana, kanji and I miss one or two

Latin.
For you guys who put Chinese, it's not that hard. The only reason why you think that it may be hard is because of the characters, but there is still pinion, so that makes it easier to pronounce. The grammar is really easy though.
