And why is this an issue? I really don't care one way or the other, and neither should anyone else.

Why not, shouldn't they have the right to suffer just like all other couples???

actually, I do not know how this affects other people. Why do so many people have such a problem with it. Do they think that if they do not allow the gays to get married they will all just throw up their hands and say..."oh my I guess since I can not marry the person I love then I will just turn straight"?

Come on it is not about anything religious or wrong or sick...its about love!

I personally am straight and actually do not want to get married to anyone...to much trouble, but if that's what they want then let them.

I think that it should be called something else, like partnership for life or something like that, which has the same benefits and rules like a marriage does. Calling it a marriage on the other hand will always cause problems b/c the religious ppl will point to the bible as their source and state that only men and women can actually get married not two of the same sex. But if you call it something else, it won't be bad for either parties. Just a different name, but same rights.

Marriage regrettably ability 2 issues in this united states of america -- a non secular blessing and a civil contract. to correct be in accord with the Constituton, the government ought to stop coping with Marriage and return to being in the employer strictly of coping with the union. i'm gay. If i flow to a Roman Catholic priest with my mate, and ask to be married, he ought to look us in the face and let us know to wander away -- it would be abomination in accordance to his faith to do otherwise, and it rather is his good. If we flow to a pagan chum of ours and that guy or woman concurs, great, we are getting Married. yet that's no longer a criminal contract, this is a non secular ceremony; government has no employer in non secular ceremonies. So now we flow to the government and ask to be married. the suited governmental reaction is, "Um, marriage is an inherantly non secular difficulty. we are in a position to inspite of the undeniable fact that supply you the place of work work for a Union License. That'll be $10 please." that's how issues could desire to be. And as a gay guy, i think of gays somewhat shot themselves in the foot annoying 'marriage' as a replace of 'civil union'. We became it right into a polarizing difficulty, and the Christians purely performed alongside into the excuse we gave them. this is extra significant -- the criminal rights... or a word that has been rendered meaningless via a fifty two% divorce cost anyhow?

I'm going to answer with another question:
Do people realize the huge impact in the economy that could be had by legalizing gay marriage? The floral, travel, food, and resort businesses would flourish beyond belief!
To me, love is love. Why would or should we be afraid of love?? I don't believe Jesus would freak out about men hanging out with other men or showing how much you love them.

In terms of a civil marriage (as opposed to a religious one), yes gay marriage like straight marriage should be legal everywhere. It is not up to the government to decide with whom we sleep or make love or have breakfast.

For ech religion however, it is up to them to decide whether or not to perform marriages of same-gender couples. But they should not be spouting hatred against anyone.

Gay marriage IS LEGAL in the USA. The complaint is that they don't get the same benefits (taxes/health care via being a dependent) as male/female marriages do. But they can get married if they wish.

Yes, absolutely. The government should know to stay out of the nation's bedrooms. If two consenting adults love each other and want to marry, regardless of gender, they should be allowed to marry.

Some people would say yes! Some would say no. I feel that we should read Romans chapter 1. That is the word of the Lord and it shall stand forever! Go with God.
