Me and my husband recently bought a pre owned vehicle and we decided to purchase the extended warranty because you never know what may go wrong with a used car we are risking it in the first place because we do not know how it was treated at the beginning. Overall the extended warranty is just a good thing to have just to be on the safe side.

Usually, a warranty is not a good way to spend your money. It depends on if you can afford later to pay for repairs. I bought one for our daughter's car, just because she won't be able to afford repairs in a few years. Todays repair rates and parts costs are ridiculous. I have bought ext warranties in the past and never came close to spending that much on repairs. If you feel the truck was maintained well. I'd say no. Can you talk to the previous owner? If you do decide to buy, make sure it's a warranty company that your dealer will work with. Some dealers won't accept some warranty co's.

It's a crap-shoot. Who knows. I bought one when I purchased my truck a few years ago. I did it because it was used and you never really know what condition it is in. And I was able to finance the cost into my monthly payment so it didn't hurt. I ended up never using it so for me it wasn't a good move but you never know. It still gave me some peace of mind. I would suggest you check out your vehicle on "Consumer Reports", either on-line or a car buyers guide from a book store and see what problems your particular model has had and go from there. I think the bottom line is, if you feel you can afford a little bit more and you're not entirely sure of the future reliability of your vehicle, it may not be a bad idea to get one.

Yes, but make sure you understand it totally. There are different types for different amounts. Understand diagnosis is not covered. Make sure you get a rental for covered components. It also is very important that is a GM warranty. You wouldn't believe how many after market extended warranties were sold no brands, and all of a sudden their out of business and the customer has no recourse. Remember the price of the warranty can be dickered over. Salesmen are salesmen, there's room for play, make sure it's in your playground.

With the price of Engines, Transmissions and all the electronics and computers, it is a GOOD investment. If you only plan to keep the vehicle for 1 or 2 years, maybe not. But if you are gonna plan on keeping the vehicle, then buy the warranty.

Make sure it is "transferable".
If you buy a two year warranty and sell the car in a year, you don't want the second year that you paid for to just evaporate. It'll help you sell it.

Definitely...Make sure its a GMPP...gm protection plan. The dealer will certainly quote you different levels of protection and deductibles. Make sure you get one with the lowest mileage you can bare....theyre based off of miles and term and naturally cheaper the less miles you drive.
