10 or more pounds in a monthe---my friend ways 110 pounds and thinks she weighs to much she wants to get down to about 95 before our big christmas vacation with our boyfriends--she doesn't eat alot and she pretty much stays away from alot of sugar but can't seem to lose any weight is it that her body is at the right weight or what???

PLEASE read ALL of this. its very correct info and WILL help you.
dont try to loose it fast. please. if you do, it is usually unhealthy and you will gain it back.
you cannot "spot reduce". its just not possible. maybe spot tone.. like tone up your calfs or whatever.. but spot reduction isnt possible [w/out lipo and other surgeries]
when you loose weight, it comes off everywhere, and very slowly. dont give up.
take time and read all these articles [it might take a while but its totally worth it.]

now heres what i say:
- eat less and more often [like every 3 hours, eat 200-300 calories]
- drink plenty of water
- walk. alot. [then once you are able to walk alot w/out getting tired, try running or other things]
- dont starve yourself. dont go on those fad diets [lose 10 pounds in 5 days!! etc] you will just gain the weight back.
- after you lose the weight, keep eating healthy and excersizing. it CAN come back.
- alcohol is empty calories. dont drink.
thats all i can think of for now.
if you do all those things i said and what is in those weibsites and it still doesnt work, buy this book:
-title: YOU: the owners Manual.
-author: Micheal F. Roizen & Mehmet C. Oz
it teaches you all about your body, health, excersize, the healthy way to do things, everything. i learned soooo much form it. even for non-overweight people it is a great book to have.
also knowing your blood type will help you figure out which foods are good & bad for you. i dont know what the book is called but im sure you could go to a popular book store or a health store and ask them about it. It just tells you about what foods are good and bad for you for each bloodtype, and many other things about it too. its a great book sorry i dont know the name.
remember: read all those articles in the links. they will truly help. and dont give up. it will probably be really hard.
PS.
you shouldnt do "juice/liquid" diets. they supposedly clean out your intestines, liver, etc. BUT, the truth is, is that those things clean themselves. honestly. The liver is your cleaning system for your body, skipping meals and only drinking liquid wont help. trust me. im well informed.

Lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks??
There are some websites on the Internet, which promise you that you are going to lose 10 pounds in every 2 weeks. If you are good in math you will find that keeping these stats in mind, 260 pounds in a year. Losing 260 pounds is the figure, which is unbelievable and unexpected.
This kind of claims are planned just to cause clients to make impulsive decisions. When you gain weight, did you gained around 50 minds in two months? Certainly not. We gain weight in weight in small parts, which add up to our weight. This keeps on increasing with time.
I think you get what I mean to say. We normally gain weight in grams like 65 gram per week. With this stat you are going to gain around 7 pounds at the end of year.
This weight is so slow that you cannot measure it weekly. But in fur years you are going to gain around 28 pounds.
So how can you expect this weight to go in few days? You are going to lose the way you have gained it. So it will take time to lose weight. So you have to start losing weight systematically. You can lose weight by developing the good eating habits in you and nutritious foods.

110!!!!!!! I know what is like .. I'm between 110 and 115 always! and it does not get below that unless... I starve myself. I work out regularly, and I am a nutrition major, so I know all the bad things hat happen when your body is starving......
the only way to loose weight is to : 1) cut calories, or 2) burn them. first of all she needs to know how many calories does she burn everyday ( taking in account breathing, digestion, etc everything your body needs to maintain your current weight) Then according to that number you can cut... or burn cals.
To find out your BMR (basal metabolism rate ~ what your body burns regularly every day) you need to apply the Harris-Benedict Formula that determine calorie needs for women (there is one for men and its different!)
The Harris Benedict equation determines calorie needs for women in two steps:
-It calculates your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) calorie requirements, based on your height, weight, age and gender.
-It increases your BMR calorie needs by taking into account the number of calories you burn by taking exercise. This gives you your total calorie requirement.

Eat more food. I weigh about 114ibs. I eat very little. My friend weighs about 70ibs. He eats lots of food. Just don't eat to much sugar.

start with cardio exercise ... at least 2-3 times a week ... it will boost up your stamina .. then she need to start weight lifting exercise as weight lifting will boost her metbolism..... she must control her food intake too ... no carbohydrate at night
