I agree! The scriptures below sum it all up:
Luk 24:25 Then He said to them, "O you foolish, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
Luk 24:44 Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me."

Well, give me another prof about the fulfilling of prophecies in your book, the forming of a nation called Israel in the 40's will not pass the mustard. We all know why Israel was formed. This is not to say that some demagogues did not take the so called prophecie mentioned into account. It is a well known fact the Jewish were nomads 1500 BC. It is only normal for those more advanced Jewish leaders to tell his people they been chosen by God to become a nation. This was not really a prophecy but an exoltetion or a hope with meaning only at that particular moment in history. 2000 years ago Israel was already a nation, so the prophecie was fulfilled supposing it was really a prophecy. After been dispersed by the romans, do you mean there was another prophecy and it was fulfilled in the 1940's...?

Why, if 1948 is so important, is Abraham looking for a city whose maker and buider is God, namely the New Jerusalem? (Hebrews 11:10,16) What do you make of the parable of the vineyard in Matthew 21 where the kingdom was taken from the Jews and given to another who would produce good fruit? What about Jesus' statement that the house of the Jews was left unto them desolate? What about Daniel 9 which states that the time designated for the Jews was 70 weeks which started in 457BC and ended in AD34 with the stoning of Stephen. After that, Paul was converted, Peter had his vision and the gospel went to the gentiles? What about the statement the Paul makes that circumcision is of the heart not the flesh? What about Paul's statement that if you are Christ's you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise? What about Paul's statement that there is no Jew of Greek? What about Paul's statement that Christ has broken down the middle barrier and made of both (Jew and Gentile) one man? What about the statement made by Paul that they are not all Israel that are of Israel.
There is an Israel of the flesh and an Israel of promise. Israel of the flesh is all those of Jewish blood. Israel of the promise (the church) is all those who belong to Christ. OT Israel was unfaithful, therefore could not receive the promises of God. Jesus came as the author of the new covenant with better promises, better blood, better High Priest, better sanctuary, better resurrection, better covenant etc. (see Hebrews). Because Jesus was faithful in all areas that OT Israel was unfaithful, the promises that were promised to OT Israel will be fulfilled through Spiritual Israel (the church) so that the promises of God are not made void. Physical Jews can join the church just like any one else. In fact, the NT church was originally completely Jewish. Therefore, God has not discarded the Jews, He has opened the mystery of God, namely that both Jews and Gentiles are saved in the same way, through a relationship with Christ, the Redeemer.
In OT times, the Jews were God's chosen people to keep alive a knowledge of Him and His laws, and to point forward to the Messiah to come. Because they had the most light, the Jews continued to be God's chosen people in spite of repeated apostasy. When the Jewish leaders rejected the Messiah and had Him put to death, they rejected present truth, the Messiahship of Christ. Now, it was the church which possessed the most knowledge about God and the plan of redemtion. The church, made up of Jews and Gentiles became God's chosen people, chosen to proclaim the gospel to the whole world.
Peter makes this clear when writing to the church, he calls them a royal priesthood, the same phrase Moses used in Exodus 19 referring to OT Israel. James, writing to the church, calls them the twelve tribes scattered abroad. John in Revelation refers to the 144000 as coming from the twelve tribes of Israel. Because 10 of the 12 tribes ceased to exist during the reign of Assyria, some 800 years BC, John was talking about the church, Spiritual Israel.
Sadly, the return of the physical Jews to Israel is not a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy, just a smoke screen used by Satan to support another false prophecy, the secret rapture of the church. The church is God's end time messenger to take the gospel to the world. Why would God rapture the church just when the world needs it most? The second coming and the rapture are the same event according to the Bible, no matter what Tim Lahaye says. There will be no tribulation force, no second chance. The church is the only messenger given by God to warn the world of the soon return of Jesus in the clouds of heaven and the mark of the beast.

The prophecy of the creation of an Jewish nation said that *ALL* Jews would be returned to one nation.
Last friday I attended a Synagogue with some local Jews. That proves that the prophecy is not yet fulfilled, because I'm in the USA, not the Middle East.

Simple, anybody can write or say anything. As for a prophecy about Israel becoming a nation again in 1948 is bunk. The prophecy is talking about the Maccabean Revolt, where Israel gained its independence for 70 years (Second Century BC). Check out I & II Maccabees in the Deuterocanon/Apocrypha.

correction:
the Scriptures does NOT tell us that. Read Deuteronomy 13:1-8 is a key toward prophecy speaking and fulfillment.
Yes, many of these Biblical prophecies came to pass. All those prophecies that came to fruition were spoken from prophets whose heart was always with God. Many false prophets have had prophecies come true and do signs and wonders, it is where it points to listeners to.
If it isn't God, then no matter who true it sounds is not form the Almighty.

All of those men were holy men true servants of the GREAT GOD and GOD BLESS THEM ALL.For setting up the stage for the word of God to come to pass in being played out it reaches true fulfillment here on the earth before God through the coming of the chosen one that comes to play out the role of the GREAT MESSIAH .Without the holy word coming out of the true and faithful that were called and chosen to plant the holy seed of the word of God.The world would come to an end .

Every Religion, both Major and Minor, Orthrodoxed and Cult have fulfilled prophecies and yet to be prophecies....
If thats the case, how can YOU not believe in them too? Some of those scriptures are older than some biblical scriptures and thus their prophecies precede the Bible's....
Its so strange that if a "Christian Label" is placed on a topic... then its Holy... otherwise... it HAS TO BE the "Devil's Work"... No wonder so many Fake Evangelists and Christian Based Cult leaders are able to lead millions of Christians astray... who is to say that MAYBE...just MAYBE... one or two of the scriptures in our modern bible were not "slipped in" by the Devil himself... since they were selected by humans, and humans do make errors, and humans DO fall into the clutches of temptation... thus if not careful vulnerable to being "influenced" by the Devil...
Vanity and Pride HAS TO BE the "devil's" favorite sin... ( as unveiled by Al Pacino aka The Devil in Devil's Advocate )

Because they got so much of it wrong. According to bible prophecy Israel should not exist. The messiah has not arrived yet. The Messiah is to come to Israel first before any new Jewish state is created, and they do not mean Jesus.

Well, you know the prophecy of the False Prophet and the coming of Armageddon, too, don't you?
So, you can see what believing in "Prophets" will lead you to, by your own Books.
Have a nice day.
