Yes, a .17 Mach II will camber in a .22 long rifle and yes, it will fire but it is not designed to be shot in a .22 barrel and will be extremely inaccurate. I don't know if it would present any actual hazard but it just isn't a good idea and may damage your .22. The .17 Mach II cartridge is not the same size as a .22 long rifle and the case may rupture when you fire it and jam in the camber which may well require a gun smith to remove it. If you have a rifle that is chambered for .22 rimfire rounds, shoot .22 rimfire rounds in it. If you want to shoot .17 Mach II then buy a gun that is chambered for that round.

.17 Mach 2 is a 17 high quality: meaning it extremely is a smaller around than a 22 high quality: in actuality what a .17 Mach 2 is; Is it extremely is a necked down 22 i.e. wildcat load like the ole 270 is in actuality a necked down 30-06 wildcat load. . confident it could injury your rifle for countless motives. in particular using nostril of the shell casing increasing and spliting> The bullet itself will come out key holing using fact it extremely is smaller than the bore of the barrel. . i could equate it to forgetting to alter barrels on your 22 whilst switching from 22 to magnums to 22 stingers: that isn't stable been there finished that.

I doubt it. The .17 caliber round is smaller than the .22 and won't chamber properly and may slide down the barrel. In the event you were to 'get lucky' with the firing pin and strike the primer, the bullet would wobble in the barrel and jam it. With no place for the combustion gases to go, they would blow back through the breach and you would never have to worry about shaving again. Hunters like you keep the deer safe.

NEGATIVE!!!!!

It says right on any ammunition box never to use ammunition that does not match the exact markings on your gun.

DO NOT DO IT!

I've got a mac2 and a .22LR.They're made in the same case dimensions,but the Mach2 is a .17 obviously.If you got say, a bolt action .22LR rebarreled for a 17 mach2 by a gunsmith,then yes you can.
