for some reason i am wanting to use it as a filling but i think its going to be bad if i bake it. is it going to get hard, too liquidy or something or will it be ok after it is cooked and cooled?

I wouldn't suggest it, you are probably right about it not working when baked. Just buy instant pudding mix and make the pudding yourself.. that kind you can bake, and it only takes a few minutes.

The food in pudding cups is already cooked. It is the end
product and requires no further need for anything.
Your best bet is to run to the store and buy instant pudding.

If you're making something like Boston Cream Pie-the pudding is made separately and put in after the cake part is done and
cooled. This is the way with most pudding put into baked
goods. Cream puffs, danish puffs. If you are using a recipe,
follow it carefully. I think there are some Scandinavian pastry
that you cook 1/2 way, then add the pudding ingredients over the pastry then finish cooking. This is tricky, and I wouldn't
recommend it unless you are a seasoned pastry person.

No dont use pudding cups. Buy the instant pudding by the jello
