When you go to Canada like to the West Edmonton Mall do you use American money or do you have Canadian money!?

Where do you get the currency at in Edmonton.

You can do 2 things. First, you can exchange your money at the border, there should be a duty free shop there. Second, you can use American money at any stores. You may not get much extra, so keep an eye on the exchange rates before you go.

You can go to any bank in Edmonton and there is a currency place in the West Edmonton Mall at Entrance 8, 2nd level right across the Palace Casino which workers from casino are on strike right now in front of the casino. It probably best to exchange your American money where you live at your bank or the currency exchange center and convert it to Canadian. If you can't then you may have to rely on Canadian exchange place. Many stores won't accept any thing but Canadian money, but will accept certain credit cards liks visa, American express and so on. There is a web site about West Edmonton Mall and it has a map of all stores and you name it.

When you go to Canada, like the West Edmonton Mall, you use Canadian money. Very few places will accept American money, and if they do you will not get a very good exchange rate. You can get Canadian money from a bank, either in the US or in Canada (you can exchange your money at a Canadian bank and get the best available exchange rate) or you can just have a small amount of Canadian money on hand and put all your purchases on your credit card. That way you don't have to fret about changing money and you can pay it all off when you get home again.
Have fun at the Mall. There's a ton of stuff to do there.

Since The West Edmonton Mall is located in Edmonton, Alberta which is located in Canada we use Canadian currency.

Some stores do take American money as they will convert it but is always better to use the countrys orginal currency. whenever you travel.....best to get it through banks for correct exchange rate.

If you are coming to Canada, it is a good policy to convert your funds to Canadian currency or Canadian travellers cheques. Pretty much the same as you would do when travelling anywhere outside of your own borders; convert your money to currency of that country. Or, to avoid any problems for exchange, just use your credit card.

You use Canadian money. There is a Thomas Cook agency in The Mall that will exchange international money.

Most major retailers will acecpt american money, but you will recieve an awful exchange rate. ALL hotels (except maybe places that rent by the hour) will take american money. Chain restaurants, etc.

Money is money. You just will not get a good exchange rate.

To get a decent exchange rate, exchange before you get to canada at your local bank.

You would use Canadian money, but you can exchange American money for Canadian money all over Alberta.

Alternately, you can use a Visa card. They usually give good exchange rates.

You can change to canadian currency at the airport if you fly in. otherwise there are some places at WEM you can change currency (look at the map when you get to WEM) but you may not get a very good rate of exchange.
I can't think of any stores at WEM who would take US currency, but they might do it if you ask, but again you probably wouldn't get a fair rate of exchange, perhaps just dollar for dollar.
