Ask your doctor. Until then, the snack should be somethng healthy like veggies or fresh fruit. And he needs to brush his teeth after eating.

Yes. It's not so bad right now at his age because his body can handle it, however, it's the long-term affects you need to be looking at. He needs to learn life-long eating habits and eating late in the evening or just before bedtime is a bad habit to have. It can eventually lead to overeating, obesity and future health problems. At this age, his body is programmed to go without food throughout the night so physiologically there is no need for him to eat, however, if he's in the habit of a snack before bed you may need to wean him off. Try backing up snack time by 30 minutes over the course of several days, then another 30 minutes and so on and so forth until the snacks are eliminated. He's less likely to resist if you do this and it will allow his body to adapt in the change to the routine. Likely this part of his nightly routine is comforting to him so try to find something to replace it. Perhaps snuggling with him and reading him a book or some other intimate activity would be a good emotional replacement to his bedtime snack. Be sure he's brushing his teeth too! :)

Giving him a snack before bed isn't bad. All you have to do is give him the snack a hour an a half before bedtime. That way he won't go to sleep on a full stomach. That way you can prevent having problems when he gets older. Also give him a half glass of milk or juice with the snack.

Not at all. No matter what age, we all get thirsty. However in younger people this will inhibit bed wetting as you are all ready dealing with. I would say the even trade off would be, if she wants to have a drink at night, she needs to make sure she potties right before bed time and she needs to wear a diaper to bed so she wont ruin the mattress. I never denied my son any drinks before bed but I did limit how much he drinks and he is also a bed wetter and gets a diaper taped on him every night. She will soon grow out of the stage so until then just put diapers on at night and everyone gets a restful nights sleep.

Well yes because the eating can upset your child's stomach, if the snack is sugary then he could be up later because of the rush, and its generally a hindering habit to develop. Probably dont allow snacks about 20 minutes before bed, he should also sleep better if he is a restless boy too.

Hope I could help.

It is quite normal for children of that age to get hungry at bedtime due to several reasons, that include not eating enough at dinner thus leaving them still hungry. As long as the snack is of good nutritional value, like a fruit or cereal or veggie, it will be fine, Do not serve them anything chocolate or heavy in nature just to ill them as possible dreams could happen and thus frighten them. It is the sugar content that you should concern yourself with as it tends to "wind" them up, thus preventing getting to sleep etc.

What is he asking for? Ever hear of a bedtime snack? When he was a baby did you not give him a bedtime bottle to help him sleep through the night? unless he is requesting steak & potatoes, a light snack may help him sleep better. To answer your question, a light snack is NOT bad. just make sure it is a healthy snack.

no it is not bad at all. just don't let him drink right before bed. I know he is potty trained at this age or should be, but mistakes still happen. let him have a light snack like cheese and crackers or 3 to 4 oreo cookies. don't let him eat a meal or anything that will store heavily into fat over night. it is not bad. your son will be fine...
