is 11 too young to have a boyfriend and be in a good relationship?

I'm 11 and am in 5th grade . i started deffinetly crushing on boys last year,but this year i decided i wanted a boyfriend.and so far it's been workig out alright

Well, there are two sides to this question, I suppose. I think that being eleven is pretty young to really know what being in a relationship is all about and you don't really know what you want in a boy at that age. On the other hand, however, you can't really know what you want from a boyfriend until you've dated a few guys and compared them all with what you liked or disliked about them.

For right now, go ahead and date-make sure its okay with the folks, but don't feel completely crushed if it doesn't work out.

Yea it is a little young but it depends on have far you take that relationship. I have an aunt that has been with her husband since she was 12 years old and she is 30 now so that is what 28 years they have been together now. Just if you do get in a relationship do not push it or rush it let it take its course and a good relationship needs alot of time

I don't think that it is bad to have a bit of romance or puppy love, but I wouldn't get too serious at eleven years old because:

a) it never works out
b) youre not completely mature enough yet to handle a real relationship
c) it can be pretty confusing and emotional

So have a good time and don't get too head over heels. But remember, these are the best years of your life! So have a blast, single or not.

my daughter is 11 and is banned from the internet cos she had a strange man listed as a friend on her website. call this mature? i think not. its called responsible

a boyfriend is far too young at 11 yrs old....shouldnt you be in bed right now?

as a responsible parent at this time of night..my 11 and 9yr olds are tucked up safely under duvets right now.

i remember crushing on girls when i was 11, but i never did any dating til i was much older.

i don't think you will find many guys at that age who are mature and serious enough to know what love is and know what a relationship is all about.

i wish you thebest of luck, but don't be surprised if it takes many years to get a relationship to work well in the long run.

Sweetie focus on the books, boys will always be there. I know you don';t want to there that, but TRUST it is the truth. Nothign wrong with having a crush, but do not become consumed with boys and having a boyfriend. God has a amazing plan for your life and he does not want you to become side tracked. Focus on your education and future goals.

It can be a little 2 young. But, one of my friends was dating by then. Trust me Middle School Romance never works out. U can have fun with him for a while but, then it will end.

YES!! boyfriends are not a good thing for growing and maturing especially at age 11. theyre a trap and a set back. well, i make them sound evil but its jsut high school and especially jr high versions of boyfriends and girlfriends. and you put yourself in great danger of loosing your virginity at a very early age. i would definetly urge you to wait. im not saying you cant crush on people just dont tie yourself down yet.
