My scalp is very very very oily and my hair looks very stringy and gross every day. I'm noticing skin is disappearing in random spots on my scalp, so I said 'decaying', which I know probably isn't the right term. My scalp also emits a putrid stench which drives people away...ANY help is wanted, my social life is going down the drain.

You might have seboreah detmatitis and you should see a dermotologist. They can solve your problems. If you dont it will just get worse and then your hair can fall out too.
Very oily hair can be bad if not washed everyday with a strong oil shampoo, minus any hair products. Keep it natural for now. Also you can use a cut lemon on your scalp it helps. After you shampoo squeeze a lemon (the juice) on the scalp, rub in, and leave on for about a minute. Then rinse out. It will burn though if you have lesssons on the scalp so wait until you get the scalp healed. You need to keep the oil away from the scalp and keep the pores clear. This means washing frequent and stay away from all the hair products.
If you can not get to a DERMO (skin doc) you can apply aloe vera lotion to the scalp. Also you should be taking 2 tablets of Lysine per day (natural supplement) as it promotes healing.

Good Luck

you must have tried everything by now to improve the scalp decay. when nothing else helps, I'd suggest you go see a dermatologist asap.

You MUST go to a physician, better yet, a DERMATOLOGIST! You probably have a fungal infection of the scalp. If you don't go get medical help, you could potentially go bald from the illness. Please get medical help at once.

There are many people out there with your same problem. It's time to start settling. I bet most decaying, bald, smelly people have great personalities.

i sounds like to me that you have a fungus. go see your doctor, he/she Willl take a sample of your scalp, and it wil be sent to a lab for further testing. you will get a call and they will tell you exactly what you have, and the doctor will prescribe you something to eliminate your issue.
