Since spiritual beings do not leave footprints in the dimension occupied by humans, then by default, they would have to be my footprints.

If I understand your question here is my answer. As far as leaving behind foot prints When I walk I leave behind only one set of them. I have never left two sets. Nor do I believe that anyone carries me through hard times. I do believe that I have been helped through hard times. I know that I have received help during good times as well. I know that whenever I ask for help it is there for me. My Gods and my Goddesses as well as my ancestors and spirit guides are there for me.

Those footprints would be mine, walking my chosen path, accepting my challenges and looking back to make sure I have learned past lessens.
Blessed Be to those who learn from their own mistakes.

Why can't they be those of the God or Goddess? Just because I don't believe in the Judeo-Christian concept of "God" doesn't mean that I don't believe in a Higher Power.

If I see only one set of footprints, they must be mine.

That poem sucks,if God carries you in your most troubled times he must have dropped a few suicides, and mass-murderers along the way, maybe he should work out?

Those would be mine. My legs do not end in stubs, they end in feet, so I would assume that I leave footprints.
