Hi,Please dont put anything in your ear, except cotton wool.I would advise a hot water bottle wrapped in a dry tea towel and 2 paracetamol every 4 hrs if needed. Please make an appointment to see your G.P. or Primary Care Centre usually in your nearest hospital. You could ring N.H.S. Direct for more professional advice (You ring them, then a qualified nurse or doctor rings you back),they either advise or book you in at your primary care centre.N.H.S. Here are remedies for outer ear infections which have worked for me. I am listing them in the order in which I got to know and test them. Drop these remedies directly into the ear and add some cotton batten to prevent them from running out.

Rubbing alcohol or strong drinkable hard liquor. In my childhood, this was my family's favorite remedy.

Wonder Oil which is a patent medicine registered in the USA. It smells as though it contains eucalyptus oil and menthol. I got to know this remedy 45 years ago, and it is still my favorite. I certainly recommend looking for it. It has other applications as well and the smell is most pleasant. A few drops of Wonder Oil will soften hard ear wax. Warm vegetable oil will do the same thing.

Vitamin E straight out of a pierced capsule, a very powerful healing agent.

Vitamin A straight out of a pierced capsule, a very powerful antidote for any kind of infection. You can substiture the vitamin A+D capsule. It is easier to find and much lower in price.

Garlic oil straight out of a capsule. This remedy was recommended by my GP. I suspect that garlic juice would have much the same effect, but I have not tried it.

Keep the ear warm with a hot water bottle or an infrared heat lamp.

Good luck! Hope it gets better ;)

Have you tried ear candling? They do it at the the likes of Dr China and places like that. There are even beauticians that have been trained to do it.
The candles look like a long narrow funnels for your ears which is burnt down and brings out any deep seated ear wax that may be lurking there. You lie on your side and each one takes a few minutes to burn down. If you want, you can then see the amount of wax that comes out when they unravel the candle ends.
You can buy these yourself but make sure you have someone with you when using them so they can tell you when they have reached the safety mark. Hearing is vastly improved after this procedure and it should put paid to your problem of earache.
If you do a search on ear candling or Hopi ear candles, you will find out stockists or where your nearest treament centre is.

I used to suffer with severe ear infections as a child. I used to have heated olive oil on cotton wool to put in my ear. You can always try laying on a hot water bottle too. See your GP, they can take a look and give you some antibiotics if you have an infection xx

Warm up olive oil in a spoon holding over the stove, over one of the burners, only until warm. Then dip a cotton ball in it just a bit & stick it in your ear. Another thing is warming up a small rag on a hot plate and putting on your ear as well, doing both at the same time helps. My abuelita used 2 do that for me when I was younger. Hope that helps, and I hope u get to feeling btr soon!! Cheers my dear!

This will sound crazy, but works - Put salt in tin foil and heat it in the oven for at least 20 mins then wrap in a towel and place on ear, the heat helps the ache and also the salt in the foil makes it easy to bend in a comfortable way. Alos try using a blow dryer on the inside of your ear.

Along with the olive oil, I grew up with hydrogen peroixde. Same thing, bring it to room temp and pour half a capful into ear. Let it sit a couple of minutes and turn head to drain out.
