While I'm the first person to be annoyed with young girls and their really horrid stupidity, I feel the need to take up for them on this one. I am a completely stable, well-adjusted, college-educated professional. But I was boy crazy when I was young too. You can't ignore the science behind the phenomenon. Puberty loads up both sexes with hormones, and those pretty much control every thought that pops into a teenager's brain. If you know of any 12 year old boys who AREN'T masturbating thrice daily to the JC Penney's lingerie section, it's probably due to some sort of psychological problem that hasn't been discovered yet. The same can be said of girls- they think about boys ALL the time. They think about what their first kiss will be like, they think about what slow dancing with their crush will be like, and they analyze every single conversation they've ever had with a guy over and over again (that's not even counting the pretend conversations they have in their rooms when they're listening to Jo Jo sing about heartache). It's just what they do. As for worrying about college at the age of 12- a bit over the top. They need to worry about doing well in their current classes. Sixteen is a good time to START thinking about college and work, but that doesn't mean their thoughts should be consumed with these thoughts. They'll go through a quarter-life crisis about it in 10 years anyway. Kids want to grow up to be adults. Now that you're an adult, you want to go back and be a kid again. It ticks you off that "youth is wasted on the young," and you're venting. And that's cool. We understand. :)

Answer these questions...
1. Are you a girl?
2. Do you want to be raped?
3. Do you want to be killed?
4. Do you want to be harassed by a pedofile?
5. Do you want to waste all of your precious time as a CHILD on the internet talking to guys in their 40s who say they are 13?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then No your not too young and you should be online talking to guys.
Bottom line...I know your a girl and 12 years old, so yes, you are too young to meet guys online.

Absolutely. I was 15 when I started meeting guys online, and I made a HUGE mistake. It's amazing how naive we really are when it comes to what we share about ourselves online. Now people consider me to be paranoid on the Internet because I'm very selective in what I choose to share about myself.
When I was 15, I met 3 guys from the Internet and had one pervert stalker. ALL of them were older than me, and ALL of them wanted to get in my pants (and I didn't realize it until later).
If you're smart enough to ask if you're too young, it shows that you're also smart enough to take the right advice about it. Do the mature thing by sticking to the guys at school- they're dangerous enough as it is. :)

Um, DUH! You are too young for a relationship to begin with, and you shouldn't meet guys online. Even if a person seems nice online, they could really be a much older person than what they say, just waiting to hurt somebody like you. If you want to hang out with guys, you could try hanging out with some of the boys at school. You might even make a new best friend, and later a relationship could develop.

12 is absolutely too young to meet guys online! People online can lie to you about who they really are and completely take advantage of you. You may even meet someone who wants to harm you to keep anyone from finding out he met you.
Sweetie, you need to find someone to talk to. You sound like you might be looking for a role model in your life. Talk to a school counselor or join a youth group in your area. Please don't go looking online. It is very dangerous.

Yes your way to young. Wait and don't meet anyone you could get seriously hurt. You don't have the experience to know what to expect, or how to protect yourself from the idiots out there.
There will be lots of time for meeting guys in the far future, concentrate on school.

YES.......you are too young....safety is the most important thing and you are looking for trouble. Guys are not that important that you need to go looking for them ANYWHERE! Figure out why you are so desperate at 12 years old to have a relationship. Have fun with your friends and stay off line with strangers. DON'T YOU WATCH DR. PHIL??? and the NEWS. youre looking for trouble and I am sorry you are so lonely that you think you need on line predidtors to give you attention. You'll end up dead in an alley girl. please take care of yourself. Have self confidence and integrity and love yourself for who you are. Don't give yourself away to just any guy..... be smart....

Being 12 and looking for guys online makes you a perfect target for 40-year-old, Dateline-bound sickos. I suggest you stick to Neopets.

You're only twelve. Why would want to do that? online? that's very dangerous to begin with, and you're way too young to be thinking of guys. You don't have any idea of how stressful guys are. You're just way to young
