I have seen so many kids in their parent's cars not wearing their seatbelt. Just this afternoon, I saw a little boy (with a pacifier in his mouth), he looks about 2 years old, standing up in his (I'm guessing) mother's suv. They were driving along and he was in and out of his seat. Is'nt it the law in all states that all kids should be in a car seat or booster seat? What can I or anyone do if you see a child not wearing a seat belt or in a child safety seat? It is very frustrating because I see it so often and it seems as though there is nothing I can do. Should I just mind my business and continue to shake my head in dismay? Then listen to the news that some child flew out to the vehicle in and accident because they were not in a safety seat?!! Ofcoure the parents are to blame because they are responsible for those kids.............ok, I'm done venting.....express your opinion or suggestions if you like.

Well i would be pretty up set to if my child wasnt wearing a seat belt i mean its the law and it would be even more upsetting if u watched the news and it said some child flew out of the car and died and may have been the same car u saw while u were driving by and u would live with it saying i could have done something ect.. i think maybe u should take the licence plate # and call it in or maybe u can try and get the person attention and show them the seat belt thats on u and maybe they will get what u mean ex. pull on ur seat belt that ur wearing and point to there kid. or signal then to pull over maybe and talk to them resonably .... even tho they may not like that as much but it worth there childs safety ... im not to good and answering people questions .. im just 14 but i hope that helped a little or gave u some ideas! well good luck!

I thought it was California only that had that law but other states might have adopted it..um...I grew up in an era where seat belts weren't used...they were kindof a novelty...one felt a little silly wearing one...we're going back to the 70s here...but I have no prob wearing one now...I don't worry to much about people not wearing them as a result though...I guess I figure I never wore one and I was ok so it's no big...also there might be something to be said for driving safely more so than driving with safety equipment...coz all the seatbelts in the world isn't going to help sheer recklessness...

I thought I was the only one! Call 9-11 from your cell phone and let the police know. I hate going in public and seeing a mother not taking proper care of her child. I don't know how many times I have been in a store in the middle of winter and seen some woman walking around with a half naked child! It makes me so angry! Just last night, we were at Wal-Mart and there was a young mother talking on her cell phone standing by her car. Her baby (couldn't tell if it was a boy or girl due to it being without clothes ) who couldn't have been more than 2 was crawling all over the top of her car! When she put him/her back inside the car, he/she started honking the horn. She kept yelling "STOP!!", but it didn't work. I am a firm believer in child safety. If I see someone endangering their child, I reoport them! Good for you!

You can always get the vehicles license plate number and turn them into the police. Here in Kentucky there is a law saying a child should be in a carseat, booster seat, or seat belt. Good luck.

You should be upset about it. Its a parents job to protect their child in every way possible, especially in every way thats required of them by the law.

You can take down the license plate and call it in and tell them where the car is and where its headed. Usually they can get a cop to follow it. You might have to testify though.

But honestly i think its worth it.

I think you should should stop trying to control things. it'll just drive you coo-coo and make you upset all the time. Because like it or not . people are going to do what they think best, even if it isn't. And my opinion is. This is America, and people should be able to ..

You, in your question, in fact! did provide the answer. "forget about it" after all, in reality, the only thing you're doing, "is causing yourself unnecessary angst". The bottom line is, all life is in "God's" capable hands. Do yourself a favor, "Look, and see not". (smile)
