My doctor gave me a script called Novo-Nortriptyline 10 mg. and it seems to have settled down the legs quite a bit at night. At least according to my significant other who is often on the receiving end. I take two of these about an hour before bed and certainly does not awaken me any longer and my fiance is very grateful for these also.

They have a homeopathic remedy called restless leg that works pretty well. It is designed to cover the many types of restless leg syndrome. The other one that helps is called arnica montana. Also taking a magnesium supplement at bedtime will sometimes help. Magnesium the first few times you take it may give you loose stools in the morning but after you keep taking it that will stop. Magnesium is also a very important nutrient for your heart relaxation and many things.

OH MY GOSH. Every time I try to explain RLS to my friends they think I am so weird. I have been suffering with it for years now and I think my 6 year old is also suffering. Her legs are going all night long. At night, I try and keep my legs cool other wise they feel suffocated but sometimes my legs prefer to be hot (changes every minute). I do lots of leg exercises, but what really helps the most is jogging. I really hate jogging, but I can get a good night sleep when I do, my legs seems to like the pounding on the pavement. I have done plenty of research, but I have not found any solutions that work for me.

I also suffer from this and have for several years..
I take Inderal and that helps a lot... I take 120mg a day.
Neurontin is also good, but it causes weight gain in some cases, which can make life difficult.
I also suffer from arthritis and fibromyalgia and walking is difficult, but I push myself to walk about half a kilometre, then I have a relaxing cup of chamomile tea..
I sit on the side of the bed before I am to retire, and do some light stretching..
A couple of drops of Lavendar oil on the pillow will relax your body and give you a nice sleep (NOTE DO NOT USE LAVENDAR OIL IN PREGNANCY)
I rest a pillow between my knees going down to my ankles, it allows me to sleep without waking to the constant moving of the legs..
Some medications like anti depressants and anti psychotics can cause this as a side effect so if you are on any medication maybe talk to your GP about it...
Just my 2 cents worth...

Have u tried any medications? I was on requip, but it made me nauseated. I was on neurontin, and that worked pretty well. Right now, I am taking flexeril at night. It works pretty well, also. Stress seems to make the crawly feeling worse. Here is some info. U can find more if u enter "restless legs" in ur browser. rls.com is really a site for requip. I've looked.

get your iron levels checked. If you think its heat related, then you have may have a mild case of the following without the skin changes. Keep your skin cool.

Acupuncture is the best treatment for all painful disorders, but doctors never tell it as a business strategy. Please search a skilled acupuncturist and follow him instead of painkillers. Actually they kill the patient many times and not the disease.
