for the most part a parent has to be committed to the child whether they are with the other parent or not.if they have alot of love for the child they will want to do whats best for the child. many times bitterness crops up and they take their anger out on the child as well.sometimes they are selfish and only want to do their own thing and forget that they have responsibility . sometimes they have never grown up and need a lesson in parenting.when they are made to pay support then thats when they realize that there is no way out and this is a way to get the job done.

Trust me, I can truly relate. In my own personal experience, the other person is:
1. Selfish. Anyone, male or female who has to be forced to take care of their child is a selfish person, thinking only of themselves and not of the best interest of the child
2. This person is also immature. Why get mad at someone for wanting to do the right thing by an innocent person.
Hopefully, the immature, selfish parent will come to their senses, in the mean time, handle your business. Sounds like the child has at least one rational, responsible parent. One is better than none.

You want to know why? Because they don't care!
Now, is that answer helping you?
Probably not. I think what you want to know is how to get to the point where you can be happy as a single parent.
That's pretty easy: don't care how THEY feel, because it really doesn't matter to you.
Child support is the right thing to do - and when people have to be forced to do it, then they should be forced to do it.
Don't feel bad because they're angry. Don't let it affect you.
Live you life, love yourself and your child. That's all you need to do.
Good Luck!

I'm not quite understanding are you asking why the child's parent gets mad be cause they have to pay support or do you mean why does the public get mad because your asking for assistance?

Because they were hoping to avoid their responsibilities all together. You're doing the right thing. Stand firm. You're doing all this for your child, not for the child's other parent. Good luck and God Bless.

because they blame the other parent for the pregnancy in the first place, even tho they were also in attendance at conception, and because they have no conscience when it comes to their own kid, and because you made a mistake. now, build a bridge and get over it and love that baby and raise him better than his father was raised
