How to tell if your cat is in Heat:
Immediately preceding oestrus, your female cat may become unusually affection, and rub her hind quarters against furniture, other cats, and/or her favorite human.
The Queen (name for female cats of breeding age) will vocalize loudly. This "calling" may go on for several days, unless she mates.
She will assume a mating position: head down, forelegs bent, rear quarters raised to expose the perineum ( this raised posture is called lordosis), with the tail raised and held to the side of the body. Her rear legs will tread rhythmically, as if walking in place.
TIPS:
Unless she is a qualified pedigreed breeder, your female cat should be spayed. It will not only cease the uncomfortable heat cycles, but prevent certain serious medical problems.
Your veterinarian may be able to give your female cat hormones to stop the oestrus, if spaying is not immediately possible.
Female cats as young as four months can go into oestrus.

Sounds like heat to me... keep her away from male cat for now...she is old enough to come into heat, but too young to handle a pregnancy at this point...it would be like a 12 yr old girl getting pregnant.

6 months is old enough...yes, she's in heat. I have two un-spayed females myself. We didn't spay the oldest one because when we first got her she was in such a fragile state that we were afraid the operation would kill her. And then we got the second female and didn't bother spaying her since we already have one that is unspayed. All of or males are neutered and they are all indoor kitties so it's really not an issue.

she is in heat, keep her away from other cats for about a week or so, and if she is still acting weird then go to the vet, I say get her spayed. the earlier the better. It does help with different diseases also

Sounds like it's spay time at your house. Your vet can spay even if the cat is in heat. He may have to administer some hormones to balance things out (at least that's what my vet does when he spays cats in heat). You don't need a litter of kittens, do you?
Good Luck

It is entirely possible that she is in heat. I've heard they can go into heat as early as 4-months-old. Is she crying as well?
