I have noticed that in different parts of America people have different names for soft drinks.
In Ohio we call it pop, mostly.
where are you from and what do you call it?
By the way I am just bored and wondering strange things right now :)

Australia, we call it soft drink or fizzy drink. Soda here is Soda water/mineral water and its gross! We never say POP!!! unless referring to passing wind through the bottom!!LOL Or Lolly pop...

Someone said that its called pop in California? Only someone from out of state would call it that here, everyone else calls it soda.
I had a friend from Oklahoma who called it Coke, even orange soda was Orange Coke to him.

i can declare first hand that MN says pop and, in case you ask for a soda, human beings will look at you surprisingly. It drives me slightly loopy, to be common. The term "pop" makes me flinch because of the fact it sounds so juvenile to my ears. As a former westerner, I on no account heard the term as quickly as until I moved returned to the Midwest. In my journey, that's a Midwestern element yet could advance previous that selection. interior the west, we tended to easily ask for a "coke" regardless of the cola sort.
