It sounds like tendinitis or inflamed tendons which can be very painful and last for quite some time occasionally. I eventually had a few cortisone treatments injected into the affected area and after 3 it was gone and didn't come back , mean while the cortisone took care of the pain. You man consider this option. Your symptoms sound very similar to mine.

Firstly, I am sorry to hear of your suffering..
I cant really provide an answer but I can provide some insight into what I have been diagnosed with..
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis when I was 19, it can hit at any age, and I was suffering well before that..
I have the same symptoms as you and I have shoulder impingement, carpal tunnel and of course the arthritis..
Usually tendonitis, bursitiis and shoulder impingement cause pain in the upper arm, but it can extend down under the elbow.
My uneducated first guess would be carpal tunnel, and this does not always come from the computer, if you use your hands for a lot of different but similar movements throughout the day it eventually can cause carpal tunnel..
Try www.webmd.com and do some research
I hope you get some relief, it is a painful condition..

There are many problems whose reasons are unknwon to medical science. Whatever may it be don't worry, go to a skilled acupuncturist and your problem will be solved. Such problms arise whenever a nerve gets blocked and only acupuncture treats it with good success.
In other therapies massage and heating also help. You can try a hot mud pad, if pain increases col dmud pad.

It sounds like a carpal tunnel problem. If you were older it might be arthritis.
