I would love any advice...
He first had redish brown stuff dripping out of his eyes, and now he cant keep any food down, he doesn't move much, and he's limping. He also makes weezing noises, and coughs up mucus. I've also seen a few snot bubbles come out of his nose, and his nose is leaking bad.

I don't wanna lose my cat, but im a broke college student can can't really afford a vet at this point in time...

Any advice would be utterly grateful!

the same thing was happening to my cat a few months ago. warm its food up in the microwave bc chances are is that he cant smell the food bc of his snotty nose and microwaving makes him smell it better. also you can use saline drops in his nose to clear it up..keep a humidifier or vaporizer going and if you dont have one run a very hot shower with the door shut and it will steam up the bathroom and help his congestion..(trust me it all works because i did this with my cat and i couldnt afford a vet) also get some infant benadryl and only give it like the size of your thumbnail. as for the eyes i had some cat eye drops so i dunno bout that but most likely you could get a warm washcloth and dab his eyes with it to clear it out. keep him warm, away from cool drafts n stuff. sorry i dont have much more advise for you. how old is the cat? keep plenty of liquids around for it..that pediasure drink stuff for babys and toddlers is really good too bc it helps the cat from getting dehydrated.. take care of it.
good luck with everything

Toss the flea collars. Even my own vet told me the flea collars are not only useless in killing fleas, but very deadly to cats and even to children and adults. Toxic, useless, waste of money. Dispose of them right away (seriously). Now, for fleas you have to spray your home first of all. You can't purchase the spray you need at a store, only a vets. It's around twenty dollars a can, most times one can will cover an entire home. You need to spray under dressers, in cracks, under couches, the bottoms of curtains, everywhere on the floor (even with no carpets).. because the eggs and larva are everywhere. It's disgusting when you actually learn about fleas. Then apply Frontline, Advantage, or Promeris to your cats. Again, you only find these flea killers at the vet or 1800PETMEDS ..... You apply the medicine once a month to each cat. Also the flea shampoos are a waste of money and effort also, since the shampoo only kills the adult fleas on the cats at the time of the bath. There are still eggs, adult fleas, and larva ALL OVER your home! Thousands, millions.. *shudders* Trust me, I just went through 3 months of fighting fleas because I rescued a flea infested kitten and had to keep it in the home while nursing it. Also comb your cats with flea or human lice combs to get fleas off them. It's best to have a plastic zipper baggy ready to put the comb quickly into while you get the live fleas off it. Then zip it back up (use a hammer to kill the fleas in the bag lol because those buggers are hard to squish!) With all that said, please take your kitties to the vet so they can get the health check up and care that they probably need. Anemia can kill a cat, and fleas carry lots of diseases. You don't want the little buggers biting you either! Mrs. B

hi , i agree with sawyer and it is, most likely, an upper respiratory infection. my TWO cats had the same thing. i took them to a vet, cost me 100.00 and he gave them antibiotics which didn't work because he gave them pills and they were vomiting so they couldn't hold them down. two weeks later i took them to another vet (they just weren't getting well), the bill was 300.00 this time. they are the kids pets so they are like the mastercard commerical (PRICELESS), i couldn't let them die near christmas...anyway, the other vet gave them the wrong antibiotics and if they were the right ones, the dosages wouldn't have been high enough. the new vet gave us liquid antibiotics and antiemetic pills (so they won't vomit), we got full bloodwork and just the white cells were high which meant infection, which was respiratory. plus tested for feline leukemia, which was negative. now they are doing much better, i did have to "force feed" with a vial of watered down food the severely ill cat for about three days and he was dehydrated and needed i.v. fluids injected in his back but the kids love these dumb cats and it was well worth it for me to have the kids happy.
it most likely is a respirtory virus, which is where they breathe so if they can't breath they won't be able to eat or drink. so it can become weak and die, i know you said you have limited money but if you let this go christmas is coming and you may find all the vets to be on vacation and you may lose the cat. a few hundred dollars is worth a loving companion for about twenty years.
email me and let me know how the cat fairs out.

Your cat definitely sounds ill. You should take him to the Vet. I bet he needs a shot... and some medication for awhile. There are some very bad cat viruses out there. Borrow some money... you have to get the cat help. You can't just leave him like that. Keep washing your cats eyes to keep them clean. Don't let the cat outside until you get the cat treated for his illness....

Sounds like an upper respiratory infection.
If you love your cat; take it to the vet...PRONTO.
Tell the vet you're broke & a student, but take care of your baby. It is depending on you.

That's rough!

Yes, take him to the vet: That's the only chance your kitty has. A lot of vets are willing to work with you on making a payment plan if they know you can't pay up front.

Good luck.
