There are many different perm rod sizes that you may want to look at before going on with a perm. You may want tight curls, or you may want loose curls, and a perm can do both for you. Make sure that you have NO bleach on your hair because perm solution and bleach do NOT work well together. When you get the perm and you decide you want straight hair for the day, purchase some thermal spray protectant and spritz a tiny bit on each section of hair that you flat iron, this will protect your hair strands from the heat of the iron. Some one mentioned that the heat of the iron will ruin the perm chemical and that information is incorrect. After the perm solution is applied, a neutralizer is applied to lock in the curl. So your perm isn't gonna go anywhere until its time to have it done again, which should be 4 to 6 months. Hope this helps!

Okay to answer your first quetsion, YES!!! you can straighten your hair after having it permed! As long as its a flat iron, and not a chemical straightener. After it gets wet, it will curl back up. And no, its not bad at all! I have a perm and i straighten it ALL THE TIME! as a matter of fact, its straightened right now and tomorrow i'll probably scrunch it. But anyways, the price of a perm depends on how long your hair is. For long hair, at a normal on-the-side-of-the-road salon, it will be in the ballpark of $130. At fancy places it will probably be higher. But thats for long hair. I would recommend getting your hair permed at a beauty college because it is so much cheaper. To perm my hair, it would be about $120, but at the beauty college i went to, it only cost $60. So that is really good. Hope this helped! That's my exact same prediciment right now. I was just going to get a trim, but then last minute got a perm ( I used to get them all the time) but I'm so over them now. I now wish I hadnt gotten the perm. The perm really dried my hair out, but I also want to get rid of my perm, I've had it for about 3 weeks. But I think my hair will really be dry if i chemically straighten it any time soon. I have been using my flat iron to straigten it once in a while but with having a perm, its alot harder to get the hair completely straight , especially in the back. And it doesnt look as nice as it did when I use the flat iron before my perm dried my hair out.

The cost of a perm depends on the salon, your hair lenght and thickness, and what type of perm you want. Mine start at $50. Yes you can wear your hair straight after getting a perm, you would have to blow-dry it out, and straighten it. THen the perm would just be for volume. If you just want a change in hairstyles, I reccomend buying a curling iron and curling your hair every now and then, instead of changing it chemically so that you can damage it more by using heat on it!

Yes you can straighten your hair after you have gotten a perm....and after you straighten it, it will go back curly whne you get it wet and wash your hair....salons have different prices on perms...some charge by time whiel some have a flat rate. also they might charge you for how many perms it takes to cover your hair....like if you need more perm soluition they would have to open another box and you can be charged an extra fee for that....also a perm is time consuming and the smell of it is awful....after a perm you cant wach your hair for atleast 48 hours and if the stylist dosent rinse you well enough you will smell that for thr 48 hours till you can wash your hair again....and even then a smell while still linger for a little while....it can also be very damaging to you hair....

Perming is really hard on your hair. Yes, you could get a straightener, but you need to wait a while. You also need to take extra care of your hair, as in hot oil treatment, and conditioner. Just washing it every day will help to relax it some. I think the recommended time to wait would be at least a month., before applying a straightener. Be sure to get professional help. You don't want your hair to melt, or break off . Be sure to get someone who knows what they are doing.

perms costs are depended on how long your hair is. they can range usually 150 and up. i wouldnt really suggest that you straighten your perm hair but i know i did it before when i was younger. i didnt do it right away, i waited like a month before i even used a striaghtening iron on my hair. my perm hair did come back but it was a bit straighter for a few days.

You can straighten it with a straightening iron..The perm will go back. It will eventually start to go away. its not go to chemically straighten it right away after a perm. You'd probably have to wait 8 weeks.
