I'm stuck at work and there's no medication here for me to take. I'm alone and can't leave. I've had it since 2:30 this afternoon. Any suggestions?

Wet a cloth with cool water, and put it on your forehead. The cold will constrict the blood vessels, which is the same thing that aspirin does, and make you feel better. A cool cloth can't do it from the inside like pain releivers, but it can help!

wow if you have had this headache since 2:30, its proably as bad as its going to get. If you can get into a dark room and lay down with a cool cloth on your head it may help but i kind of doubt it. its in full swing now, you will almost need a narcotic to wipe that out. If you can get a otc med get some advil and take 4 pills.that will equal 800mgs of ibuprofen. that should knock it out. Good luck with your headache i know they can be pretty rough sometimes.

Everyone above had good ideas.

Another option is to go to a quiet place for a few minutes (don't be proud, go to the bathroom), sit up straight and loosely, and just close your eyes for 10 minutes. Feel your body relax.

Also, you might be thinking too much and experiencing eyestrain as well, if you're in front of a computer. In that case, go for a walk for air, to loosen up, to interrupt your concentration, and to give your eyes a break!

Caffeine works for me when nothing else will, unless it is a sinus headache. If it is a tension headache, though, then coffee or chocolate, or some other source of caffeine should work. It's similar to taking a Bufferin.

relax your neck. stretch a little. turn your head to each side. close your eyes for a bit. massage temples. their is supposed to be a place on your forearm that you can massage to make a headache go away. Its on the inner side, and closer to your inner elbow than the wrist.
put a cool damp cloth over your eyes.

Try some deep breathing while you relax as others have suggested.
As you exhale, imagine the stress leaving your body and mind.
