Do you think this kind of relationship is wrong? Is it possible in America to have this kind of relationship? Will this work only if one converts to the others beliefs and practices? Do you think you would ever try to exist in relationship that mixes both religions? What do you think would happen to children who are a result of such a relationship? Would this couple be accepted anywhere?

Great question!

Personally, I don't think that this kind of relationship is wrong, per se. I don't think that it can work unless either party converted. The man to Islam or vice versa. And if that is the case, how would you choose which faith would win?

I would never try to exist in a relationship where the faiths are basically polar opposites. I'm Baptist and I think it would be difficult for me to marry a man who is Catholic. Though we're both Christians, Catholics engage in some practices that Baptists don't get down with, hence the division.

I think it could affect the children in one of two ways: They may feel like they have to choose or be apathetic towards the whole idea of religion. The decision is theirs.

I don't think the couple would have a problem being accepted in SOCIAL circles; however, the mosque might shun them. And the church, depending on the denomination, might also do the same. I don't know.

Actually, one of my friends is the product this type of relationship. (His father is Muslim and his mother is Christian.) He's 30 and neither of his parents converted. They are still married to each other. I don't know much about my friend's situation such as how the families feel about this situation or how much religion is a part of either of their lives. My friend is an only child and an atheist/agnostic (same thing as far as I'm concerned).

I hope this helps!

Actually I think it could work. If anyone studied the 2 religions, you would see that they are both very similar. My cousin married a muslim woman and they have a great relationship based on love and respect. They celebrate X-mas and Eid. The kids are growing up learning both religions and when older can decide for themselves if they want a religion. Inter-religious couples like what you've described are very common and successfully in Europe and in the Middle East.

guy i must tell u, ITS NOT POSSIBLE AT ALL. tried it....muslims will never change, instead they will change u. i encourage that u stop this relationship before it gets too deep, u will end up heart broken just like i did, am still crying and its been 5 months when i broke up with my muslim bf cause his father refused for us to get marry unless i become a muslim too. the lord jesus christ is more than any man for me, it was hard choosing but i realized the most important one besides u shouldnt be choosing between god and another human being.

nicely, as long as you at the instant are not a door mat. in my opinion i don't choose a guy choosing up woman pads for me for i'm able to try this myself. they'd be jealous quite in the event that they see you're in basic terms doing outstanding stuff and she or he's not bossing you around. there will be jealousy in direction of men and girls whose relationship are going solid.

it will b so difficult. Coz i think both of religion have different habit. and in some country, the government not allow a couple that have different religion to get marry, like in my country in Indonesia here. so couple that has different religion will married abroad. and sometimes it will make their children confuse.
