the first amendment says freedom of religion. the 5 muslims guys were just praying. if america says its a free country that should not have been a big deal. people have different religions and they need to be respected! they were not hurting anyone. this was very hypocritical of all the americans who dissaproved of what the muslims were doing. they were just praying like normal muslims do. they pray 5 times a day. what if someone christian people couldn't wear crosses because it scared some people? how can someone say they should pray to themselves? people in america feel that everyone should be themselves and follow there culture. they were praying so their flight would be safe. i am so pissed off at this! if you agree with me thank you so much! what do you feel about this ?

I agree with you.
The terrorists have gotten their way, if people are so terrified they can't handle open prayer. It's due to the media constantly using the words "terrorist muslim" and "Islamic radical" that people who do not understand the religion of Islam now think it's an evil religion, and that anyone who is muslim has an agenda. So sad, and so far from the truth.

I understand where you're coming from, so what 5 men are praying , what's the big deal? But one point i think your'e missing is that at this moment, 5 muslim men praying would scare the crap out of people and would definetely arouse suspusion. Yes, theses men should be allowed to pray without all this crap, but on the other hand, they should be tolerant of the situation and maybe praying heavily in the middle of a busy airport isnt the best thing to do right now. I think we all need to be tolerant to each other.

I believe this is a sign of how fearful America has become about anything that remotely looks like a threat. These people just fit the profile of potential radical Muslims. They didn't make any threats, they just "looked" suspicious to the people at the airport. They were traveling in a group, they didn't speak English, they ignored the airport police, and they were obviously practicing the Muslim religion. In an attempt to protect the rest of the passengers they were removed. The response in the American press has been to condemn this action. Hopefully it won't happen again.

Even if 911 had not happened, lets say, it is something that the majority of people are not familar with. If the dancing and singing of the hara khrisnas at an airport was stopped because it annoyed others, or women are asked to be more private when breast feeding babies or teens running around and yelling and laughing upset the crowds of passengers and were asked to stop or a drunk was escorted out of the airport we would all understand. There is a proper place for things and religion, dancing, singing, goofing around, being loud and abonoxious or somethings are better not done in the airport. Lots of people have been asked to stop doing lots of things at the airport, I would think they have just made a big deal of it because it makes the news. The news will report anything if they think it will upset someone..I would think you would be more upset about people getting murdered over something as stupid as religion, beliefs that are private, cant be proved right or wrong and that everyone has a right to believe. Wearing a cross is not the same as being down on the floor and chanting in a foreing language with their bums in the air. I doubt anyone would mind if they were wearing a star of david or a symbol of Mohammad

If you can acknowledge that something is not good then you are in a better position to correct it. Music is haram. It weakens the heart according to some scholars. There are reasons that we say that something is haram and there are others that are not apparent to us. Allah knows His creation our weaknesses and strengths, if He commands you to stay away from something it is better to obey, even if the intellect makes you question why. The mind can be an evil creature and the intellect has its limits. The knowledge of the unseen we cannot penetrate that knowledge, so simply because someone uses logic to convince you that music is not haram does not necessarily make it so. Shaytan made a pact with Allah that he would mislead the majority of the world. when allah created Adam(Pbuh) Shaytan found a flaw within Adam(Pbuh) and he noticed that Adam(Pbuh) was hollow meaning that he could not control his appetites. Recitation of the Quran will protect you. Seek refuge in Allah and start praying sister. You say that you are addicted to music, I was addicted also. It can be changed and the first step was you acknowledging that it wrong. So read the Quran to remind yourself of your limits and how the Creator has none and knows what is best for you. As Salaamu Alaikum

I want to start off by saying that I am not prejudice against anyone, but in case you haven't noticed, our entire country is living in fear. You can't trust anyone anymore, and I don't mean only Muslims. People take things very seriously these days and you just have to be prepared to be scrutinized. Even in schools if you say jokingly, "I'm going to blow up a school," you are expelled. I realize that these people on the plane were harmless, but that lady took what they were doing the wrong way. How can you blame her for being cautious? Sure, she could have ignored what she believed to be suspicious and everything would have been alright. But, what if they were up to no good? My guess is that no one else on the plane spoke their language, they wouldn't have known what they were up to. What if they had been plotting to blow up the plane, what if they did? Would you feel the same way? People have got to realize that we are living in a post 911 world. Many people are on edge, and NO ONE is exempted from scrutinization. My parents (two whites) were pulled out of the line at the airport and had to have a complete search done on them. They weren't suspected of anything, it was just routine. They didn't complain about being discriminated against, they just expected that it was a possibility. This issue on the plane is about so much more than religious rights. It is about the safety of everyone in our country. Like I said, you can't be too careful. Everyone must accept that at some point they are going to be pulled out of line at an airport, or train station, or even off of a plane and be questioned or searched. If we want to be safe, we must accept it.

It's too bad that this happened. But imagine if you were on the airplane and you see five Middle Eastern men moving around and speaking Arabic. You don't know that they are praying. It could be scary. Also, if Muslims want to criticize the religious freedom of America, they should also criticize the religious freedoms that are offered to Christians of the Middle East. We have far more freedom here, the incident you speak of was an honest mistake.

so people are scared of muslim on the flight its really makes me laugh (( i know there are some black sheeps are among us the muslim we have to stop them ))

In America pre 9/11 40000+ people convert to Islam per year, post 9/11, people have became curious about what makes Muslims tick. They are now discovering that what Muslims like these do are completely in the opposite direction to the teachings of Muhammad and Islam, hence why the number of converts has increased to 78000+ a year.

Christianity (1.9+ billion people). 600 year head start on Islam

Islam (1.5+ billion people). Catching up at a rate of 10:1. Many of the converts are Atheists or Christians (including many Church leaders and ministers). By 2025 Muslims will out number Christians.

i think the american governement is using political ways to spread hatred for the muslims they are afraid that islam will dominate the world.....

but they cannot they spread crap about islam and when they do research on it they find it opposite of it..

Belive me go and read about islam.....

see here where muhammad ranks in the book of Religious Affiliation of History's 100 Most Influential People by non-muslim and specially he is a jew and how he rights about muhammed..

You are right in a very real sense. but people are worried about security and imaginations can run wild. If they were praying in Arabic , people couldn't tell if they were praying for safety or for as many infidels to die as possible. They probably fit the profile of who to descriminate against, and so they were. I believe if wearing a cross becomes an issue of national security things like that would happen to Christians as well. But I did feel bad for those men when I heard about it too.

Yes, it's a pity that they were treated that way but I think it was a security factor; a passenger reported that he was uncomfortable with they praying before the flight...and who is to blame her?
The airline should apologize and forget the whole thing; Also, Muslims should not make themselves public nuisances...it's bad for the heart.
Have a wonderful evening folks!
