Be nice to the dog and the dog will be nice to you. You cannot get rid of the dog as it is not yours. either learn to live with it or leave and find a new home. Sorry...shoulda thought about it before moving in with that person.

Would like to know what this dog is doing that you describe as mean. Being the runt of the litter, age and size have nothing to do with it. This dog might appear mean but is actually nervous and this is the reaction in an uncertain environment or he's picking up your vibes. An aggressive dog is easier to win over than a nervous one. If the owner is encouraging bad behaviour by teasing or goading it on when showing aggression, then he is definitely not responsible enough to own an animal. Is he making an effort to show the dog there's no reason for aggression if this is a new environment for him. I've scratched the bellies of strange guard dogs on chains, they can sense if you're nervous around them and react accordingly. You need to give us more info please, and I'm disturbed by some of the responses to this, some are sick.

didn't you know that he had a dog before you moved in? or if your place, you didn't ask questions before taking in a room mate; either way poor planning on your part then; the smarter of the two just may be the mean and ugly dog or are you the mean and ugly roommate? a dog doesn't know better but you do ; dogs have great insight into people they can sense what your roommate did not; a non-animal lover.

people who've genuinely no heart. In my e book, there's a undeniable place in hell for such human beings. As an "over-the-good" animal lover, i won't be able to think of being so chilly. It breaks my heart every time I circulate to our community safeguard. I observed a dogs that fluctuate right into a twelve months old a pair of years in the past, and he or she had on no account accepted existence outdoors the safeguard (were there when you consider that she substitute into weaned.) It took awhile, yet she loves us now and is amazingly happy and mushy, alongside with my 3 different dogs. i could take extra, yet only don't have the room or the money. Your pictures are so unhappy.

Who was there first? You, the room mate or you rented the apratment together? Did the room mate have the dog when they moved in? Does the landlord know and approve of the dog being there? If it was your apartment first, and the room mate had the dog when they moved in, well it was your fault for renting a place with them along with their dog. You could report the dog to the landlord if there is no agreement for them to have a dog, ask the room mate and the dog to leave, or leave yourself.

How about you leave instead of trying to "get rid of it"? I'm sure your roomate values the dog more than they value you so why not pack your bags and stop making them miserable. I'm assuming your roomate was there first and is in charge seeing if it was the other way around, you wouldnt have allowed one with a dog anyways.

The aggression can be handled, the dog may need to learn to trust you.
As for the dog being ugly, that's your opinion, obviously not your roommate's. Therefore you can either move out on your own, or learn to love the dog.
The dog does NOT belong to you, therefore you have no permission to ''get rid of it''.

Move. Even if you get rid of it, your roommate will just get another ugly dog.
