We found two ticks, one on myself and one on my husband. We went to a tree farm today in West Newbury Ma. Could the ticks have come from the tree or maybe the grass? So far our dogs are clear. They stayed home!

Yes you can, all the trees you buy from a tree lot, are all presprayed down to prevent that.

The ticks probably hopped on you while you were walkign the fields, not from the dead tree you brought in. They tend to crawl around your clothes awhile before they settle on a spot to bite.

If there were any ticks on the tree itself, my guess is they crawled off the moment the cold tree hit the warm house.

Ticks are just a problem whenever you're out in tall grass or woodsy areas. Always check yourself after a visit to those areas. It's especially bad here this fall since we haven't had a hard frost yet.

It is possible. I know in the summer ticks are on my trees.

Thanks for posting this.....aigh! Never thought about this but of course it'd be a real problem, wouldn't it, especially if you had stopped looking for ticks - eek!
