you have two choices here.

Hire a lawyer, and find what proof needs to be produced to show these were taken out in your name without your knowledge. Even if you are married, that is credit fraud. No one can open anything in your name only (joint is a different story) without your consent. If that proof will be easy to attain, that's another story.

Your only other option is to get an engineering and physics degree.

Once this is done...you can make a time machine and not get married to someone who'd do something screwed up like that. :)

If your wife opened these accounts without your permission then she's responsible for the charges made to the card(s) and that's fraudulent use of credit because you have to sign applications if you're opening accounts in your name. I would call the companies and tell them that your then wife opened them without your permission and if she forged your signature on your cards then she can be held liable for possible identity theft because she opened credit accounts in your name and didnt have your permission. I would consider consulting with an attorney about this to find out what legal remedies you can use to deal with an ex spouse who opened credit in your name when you didnt authorize your signature to any credit card application.

If you live in a "community property" state, then you have problems. In those states, your income is combined with the wifes. Therefore her debts are also your debts.

Fortunately, there are only a few states like that.

If you live on one of the other states, the creditor will have to somehow prove that you co-signed on the account (not the same as an "authorized user").

Dodgeing these debts are not going to solve your future problems though. good luck.

BUDDY go to the court house and file a NOT ME REPORT! thats right! in cleveland they have one because I have been their and done that!

Make a fake legal report and show them your divorced years ago and she did that to you after. so what just do it. Nothing should happen to her but who really cares. You need to get yourself back on track! You will need to offer someone special in your life something down the line and not bringing in old history of a terrible situation get it cleaned up or else you will be stuck with a FAT chick who does not care what you offer. Clean it up and get yourself a good healthy slim to petite girl who you can offer a good life to. You get stuck with a FAT CHICK you will need a second job just to feed it. remember that buddy. Cleveland, Ohio here
