Police often use an arrested person to identify additional suspects and go after them. We just got done with a case just like this where employees where giving out large amount of merchandise to their friends. Once the employees were caught, we brought them in and had them watch surveillance videos with us and identify all the people that they gave stuff to. We then search warranted those peoples houses and brought them to jail to. I think we ended up with 17 or 18 arrests out of that one case.
So, the moral of the story, you're probably in a bad spot if you were taking these items from your friend.

If you got it from your friend for free..it is OBVIOUS that you knew it was stolen property. Not too hard for the Prosecutor of D.A. to prove that case, genius! Your only hope is to beat them to the punch. Go to the police with all your stolen property and be prepared to testify against your friend. Only then do you have any hope of avoiding the local Greybar Bed and Breakfast.

The only way they can nail you, is if you KNOWINGLY accepted stolen goods. If someone gives you a gift, you are NOT obligated to check and see if it was stolen. You don't have the resources, and the police don't have the time to do this for you.

If you are the recipient of some of this free stuff, you may be a wanted felon for receiving stolen property. If so, I hope they catch you.

It would be difficult, unless you were participating in the crime. If you took stuff that you knew was stolen, it could be considered aiding and abetting. I would be concerned. Either way, you should have known better. Hopefully you've learned your lesson.

Only if they can prove that you knew the goods you got from him were stolen. Then it is a crime.
