There would definitely still be sects but I also believe that even the wars that are labeled and portrayed as "religion motivated" has nothing to do with religion but the greed, selfishness and lust for power of a few.

No to the first question and Yes to the second question. However, I do need to clarify a couple of things.
To the first question I say no because the very name "Christian" has lost its meaning. So many folks who call themselves Christian do not do as Christ says. Not only did he command that we love our neighbor but also that we love our enemies. How can anyone translate the word Love to mean Kill or Murder? (There is another word for Murder and it is 'Hate') So if everyone Followed Jesus then there would be no war at all. However, the name "Christian" has come to mean anyone who calls themselves by that name. A person however no more becomes a Christian by saying that he/she is one than a person could become a doctor simply by saying, "I am a doctor". A doctor has to go to school, establish a practice and keep within the strict guidelines of his field. There are many different types (sects) of doctors; some surgeons, others family practice, internal medicine, psychiatric, etc. When you go to a doctor you usually see his/her credentials on the wall; no degree/diploma you would probably go somewhere else. Ask a doctor where he went to school and he answers, "I never actually went to school" do you think you would give him/her your money? No, I don't think so. Even so, there are still malpractice issues if a certified MD does something wrong.
Many folks call themselves Christian and then go about doing some of the most atrocious things. Why do you suppose that is? Hmmm. Does that mean that Christians are bad or people who call themselves Christian are bad? How do we know the difference? What did Jesus teach? What did Jesus do? Can someone be a follower of Jesus and not do/teach as Jesus did? Again, I must say, "No, I don't think so".

Have you been reading the answers here or just asking questions. There are two parts to your question. There is the were (you said where but I think u meant were) part. Not everybody who says they are actually really are, but if everyone actually were then there would be one accord, cuz those are the standing orders easily found and written in many places. If God is the boss and one believes that (which would mean they really were Cristians u no trust and obey and all that) then instant end to bickering. Try to sell that to the trinity or else bunch. Those guys scream louder than a guy who just had a zipper accident.
The second part is if we were pretty much what we are but saying we are Christians then what would happen, well it would be harder for merchants to convince us we should kill each other. They would probably find a way though cuz as a group we really are not much smarter than sheep. Ever raise any sheep??

NO, I don't think that would help stop war! The war in Ireland is fought between to Christian groups. Mind you one is Catholic and the other Protestant but they both believe in Jesus Christ. And there is war in Colombia and most people in that beautiful South American country are Catholic they still fight each other and kill each other. During the time of the Civil War in the USA most of the people where Christians (it was like it is now with some many people of different races, religions and ethnic origins living in the USA) and they still fought against each other and killed each other. So no I don't think that by having only one religion on the earth that that would prevent any war from happening! Just my thoughts on it all. *hugs* JAC<

if muslims put down their bombs and guns..there would be 90% less bloodshed in the world ....if jews put down their guns and bombs there would be another holocaust. Muslims are waiting for their messiah and according to the teachings of islam this cannot happen until jews are wiped off the planet. Look it up.Ask an elder.Islam has a very evil agenda and it has nothing to do with mean christians. There are no christians in Iraq and the muslims 300 of each other per day..now they are burning each other alive...this is the Face Of Islam They killed a nun because the pope quoted an ancient person saying islam is violent. Guess actions speak louder than words... Where are the good muslims protesting this crap???

There would always be people who disagree on which sect was right and it most likely would end up with wars. Since there is no way of actually knowing which one is more correct than the other there would always be schisms, reformations, and eventually more wars. It wouldn't solve a thing.

There would still be wars. Even today, there are wars between Catholics and Protestants in Ireland. And there would always be the land wars, no matter what, sad to say. Well, I should not say always. I believe peace is possible. But it will not be accomplished by everyone becoming the same religion. It can only be accomplished by people respecting other people for who they already are.

Of course! Today, only true Christians practice the teachings of Jesus. They do not go to war for any reason. They are familiar with what Jesus taught his first followers to love one another. In fact, Jesus said that it would be an identifying mark of true Christianity. See John 13:34, 35.
As for sects, 1 Cor. 1:10 said that among true followers of Christ, they "should all speak in agreement, that there should not be divisions among you, but that you may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought." There are NO sects in true Christianity.

Of course it will never happen. But if where to happen, hypothetically, there would still be strains between different divisions. The Protestants will always have issues with the Catholics and vise versa. War, in it of itself is battle's fought externally while religion is something internal. This is unfortunate.

Who knows? How could anyone even speculate on that? But we do know that God's plan does not include the end of all wars on this earth, if fact we are told things will go from bad to worse, and you will be hearing of increasing wars, until the end when Christ returns, and even then it will end with a great war, the Battle of Arameggedon.
