My husband and I are wanting to get our first tattoos done together. We would like them to coordinate, not necessarily match. We have not seen much on the internet about tattoos that go together. We have been married for 6 years and have 4 children, so it is not likely that the future holds divorce and so this is not a concern for us. We do not want something huge, and do not want hearts or flowers, but are interested in possibly someting celtic or tribal, but we certainly have open minds. My husband is active duty military (currently deployed :( )and I am currently a house wife. Any suggestions?

choose something that you will like even if you are without your husband. You can probably find a tribal design that can interlock your intials without being noticeable.

Get a tattoo that has to do with how you met. I know a couple that met at an arcade and got matching dance dance revolution arrow tattoos.

Me and my husband had a tattoo artist design something for us ( tribal looking ) but it was our families names. My husband had mine and our 3 kids connected by what looks like an infinity symbol, and I had the same only with his name. Talk to someone you are thinking of having do your tattoo and see what you guys can come up with.

I would stay away from the tribal/celtic stuff... unless of course that is part of your heritage/background and you know a great deal about it.
Otherwise it is rather pointless.
I could never really see myself getting a coordinating tattoo with my husband, but if it seems right to you, then go for it!
I would stay away from each other's names, though...
You know, JUST in case.
You should think of things that are meaningful to the both of you, and then maybe come up with an idea involving that.

This site allows you to design your own celtic knots on your computer. It also has a gallery of examples. So you can create something personal and unique. Don't make too complicated though, they have to be fairly small and the tattoo artist has to be able to copy them.

No names (Unless they are your children), nothing that ties you to another person. Why do you want that kind of reminder if he does something stupid and you do divorce.
