The first sign a species is becoming sentient is when they have evolved to the point where they can abstract enough to invent a god. The first time a species achieves sentient maturity is when they get rid of their gods. Some of us are already there and many never will get there.

Chirsitian is me 6 months ago when I believed because I was taught religion at a VERY young age, I learned how to read when I was four and the first sentences I read was the first paragraph of the bible. I was a strong believer and because I was so young, thoughts, ideas, concepts of atheism or disbelief were completely alien to me. Now I'm an atheist, not because I constantly question myself, that's all over with, that only happened BEFORE I became an athesit, and the more I questioned myself, I tried to find out what the answers were, and the more I answered those questions, I came to the conclusion that god doesn't exist. An athesit is a non believer, nto someone who questions themselves, I don't do that anymore, and I won't go back to being a Christian.
Enough said

The difference is this: Christians (more properly Christendom) reads the bible, claims that it is God'w word, verbally acknowledge him, but rejects God by their actions. On the other hand, atheists read the bible to ridicule it and rejects God both by their words and their deeds.

Christians are atheists as well. The only difference between them and those of us who call ourselves atheists is that we believe in one fewer god than they do.
If anyone reads this and thinks to themselves "that makes no sense" they really have a lot of thinking to do.

Not without asking, no. Which one is so set in his or her beliefs that he or she will not listen to the opinions of others? Which one might be a better friend? Which one would you want on the jury if you were accused of a crime? If you were the victim of a crime? Who would be the better next-door neighbor?
I couldn't pick one or the other without knowing them personally.

DID YOU HEAR THE ONE ABOUT THE , PREACHER , THE RABI AND THE CHRISTIAN PASTER . WELL ALL THREE OF THEM WERE SITTING IN A SMALL BOAT IN A SMALL LAKE FISHING , WELL THE PREACHER GOT UP AND SAID I'VE GOT TO TAKE A TINKLE . SO HE GOT UP AND JUST STARTED TO WALK ACROSS THE LAKE TO THE OUT HOUSE AND BACK , THEN THE PASTER GOT UP AND SAID I'M SORRY I'VE GOT TO TAKE LEAK SO HE GOT UP AND WALKED ACROSS THE LAKE AND BACK . SO NOW NOT WANTING TO BE SHOWN OFF THE RABI GOT UP AND SAID I'VE GOT TO GO AS WELL SO HE GOT UP STEPPED OFF THE BOAT AND WENT STRAIGHT DOWN TO THE BOTTOM , SO THEN THE PREACHER LOOKS AT THE PASTER AND SAYS DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD HAVE TOLD HIM OF THE LARGE STONE NEXT TO THE BOAT ? Some folks need god so that they don't see life as a one time limited offer.Others can accept the fact that at the end you become worm food.

I think you summed it up fairly well. But many people have grown up in atheists homes and become Christians later in live. It is never too late to come to Christ.

A Christian will tie you to a stake and burn you if you disagree with him.
An atheist will tell you that you are being silly.
