I am just curious if any parents out there have followed through with the threat that if you're bad Santa will give you coal in your stocking? If so, why?

Not coal. For a joke, we give the kids chocolate covered raisins and call it "reindeer poop."

My bf's mom gave him a stocking full of candy "coal" when he was about 6. He said he was so upset and they let him stay upset for about an hour, then they gave him his real stocking. They are a family of practical jokers.
