i had problems with my windows so i decided to restore ( format every thing and have a clean install) after that when i start just ater the bios screen it tells me to chos between one o the two system and they both are windows one is the new i installed and the ther is my old one.
so how can i get rid of the old one without having to actually format everything and then install a new one!

Boot the PC with the installation CD and in recovery mode type fdisk /mbr. This will rewrite the boot sequence.

Its obvious that when you chose system restore you chose "Partial" which saves your old system in your hdd as your old disc structure. You might be able to open it and delete the files individually but you could have trouble deleting windows so you could try renaming everything and then deleting everything individually. You might find it easier to re-format again and choosing "Full" system restore this time.

you must have done a new install without actually formatting the hard drive, you have installed the new os beside the old one, i did this and had to format fully then reinstall the os

Have you created a new partition, if so you need to delete the old one.
