They say the human mind is extremely complex. We don't know what the limit to our mind is. That's exciting.

What if, hypothetically, we could gain experience through psychotherapy, or some sort of program where we manipulate the mind to the point where the person believes and behaves in a way they're intended to? I know this theory is abstract, but I hope you understand what I'm saying.

For example, a guy with little experience with women could go into "treatment" and come out thinking he's a player and have all the confidence in the world. His behavior would be a complete 180% turnaround. He has completely changed even though he never physically experienced it. It's just that his mind was manipulated and what he THOUGHT he experienced felt so real, that it became reality!!

Do you think this is possible? Perhaps the way of the future?

I think it's definitely possible to influence someone in such a way that he/she begins to perceive themselves in a way that they might not actually be. I mean a parent can influence a child in such a way by raising the child to believe he/she is better than everyone else, he/she is not as good as anyone else, etc. It's all how you coerce someone's thought process into believing a certain thing is true. I believe that thought is a powerful thing & it can greatly influence our lives & cause either good or bad things to happen. Like if someone is a very negative person negative things will be more likely to happen because that person's thought process directly/indirectly influences how they live their lives & they are in essence CHOOSING to be negative...if that makes sense?

Sure it's possible and it's already being done. It's called brainwashing. Watch the movie The Manchurian Canidate for a good illustration of the effects of brainwashing. The methods used are fictional but the results are possible.

Or, a woman could go into therapy--let's call her Melody, and even though she is clearly insane going in, she comes out believing herself to be sane. However, she then quickly reverts back to her mean--an insane state of being, and begins answering math questions with song lyrics, among other things.
