I drive a 2000 Corolla and want to be able to charge my iPod in the car. I got a Kensington car charger, but it won't fit in the cigarette lighter slot and I don't see any other places to plug the thing in. The instructions say to plug it into the car's power source or cig lighter. Am I missing something? Thanks for your help.

Should work. Jiggle and push. or buy the little extender for a few bucks from radio shack.

There is no difference between a cigarette lighter and plug called a power source. It's just a politically correct thing to call it a power source now that smoking is considered a no-no.

The plug should fit into that power source, push harder.

Any car will do this. I have a 1992 Chevy Lumina and the cigarette lighter will work as power source even when the car is off.

Cigarette lighter slot is of the same size, you can push the plug harder to fit in.

Yes, they do work. I don't smoke, but I've seen people use them in the past. From what I can tell, you have to touch the end of the cigarette to the hot element inside the lighter--there is no actual flame. How does what get its name? Cigarette lighter? That seems rather obvious, doesn't it?

yes! as long as your ipod charger eats 12v you got no problem w/ that. buy an adapter for your kensington charger that will fit the lighter slot.
