I would like to leave their hair down without it poufing out and getting extremely tangled, their hair is constantly up or braided and on the rare occasion I maxi glide it straight. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

You need to use Kera care products. They have a wash and go natural relaxer that will make it easier to comb.

I like Biolage ultra hydrating balm it nourishes think coarse hair, after I wash my hair I use this and then rinse out leaves my hair silkey and seems to lay flatter.

what ever you do don't relax their hair!!!! I don't know what product to recommend because everyones hair reacts differently to different prodcuts, but i do know lots of people that have been praising the mane n' tail moisturizing conditioner so maybe you can try something by mane n' tail.

I recommend Northwest Scents™ hair care products which are made for black, African, and bi-racial hair. You can see their kids products at http://snipurl.com/NWScentsForKids. These products are very moisturizing and gentle and are made with natural essential oils and vegetable oils.

As far as styling goes, I suggest you do some reading on how to deal with black children's hair. Here is a link to some books which may help: http://snipurl.com/BlackKidsHair
