4-6 weeks for "its business" without help and minimum 8 weeks to be separated from mom, but 10-12 weeks is better.
We rescued a 3-week old kitten about 5 months ago and we had to help her for a couple of weeks before she was able to go on her own. She wasn't fully weaned until 8 weeks. She still sucks on her bedding and kneads when she is stressed.
We rescued a 6 week old kitten 9 years ago and he was able to go on his own, but he still puts his nose down and kneads on his bedding (although he doesn't suck) so he was probably too young to be separated from his mother too.

Give the kittens at least 2 months with their mother for the right nutrients with their mother's milk. Use a shoe box with a little sand in it for training the kitten in the potty area. When the kitten wants to do its needs in another place, firmly say no and put the kitten gently in the shoebox and say...Here is for potty...by instinct the kitten will know because it will see the sand.

well once the mother starts weening the kitten off of her milk you should always have food out for the momma cat. she will show them where the food is and how to hunt. well to anwer your Q is about 7 to 8 weeks old. the other is about 3 to 4 months old is when they can be taken to theri new homes or to be sperated from thei mothers.

With a litter box that is easily accessible, a kitten will begin to litter train, with its mother's help, at about three weeks. At about three weeks, they will also begin to eat a little on their own, with their mother's coaxing, and if the food is soft enough for those baby teeth. That is because their appetites have begun to grow beyond what the mother is able to produce. That does not mean they are ready to leave the mother. A kitten really needs to be with the mother and the littermates for a minimum of eight weeks. I prefer 12 weeks and have stated in previous posts that our local shelter will not accept them before 12 weeks, but I got a couple of thumbs down for that one.

Some people say at 8 weeks it's okay to separate them from their Mother But I have read that it is best to keep them with the Mother cat for 12 weeks and they should get their shots and spayed or neutered as soon as your Vet recommends. My cat was 16 weeks old when she was spayed.

At least 7-8 weeks for them to fully be weaned and ready to go. I have 1 who was just 3 weeks when I adopted her from the pound and 1 who stayed with Mom till 8 weeks. The one who stayed longer with Mom is better adjusted. The one from the pound is a year old and still does the "kneading" thing as she wasn't fully weaned when the ba**ards dumped her. They do their "business" as soon as they can walk well enough for Mom to show them the litter box. Good luck!

there is no givin age... any cat can still not be potty trained when they are 15 but u have to teach it also you should have the cat and the mother together for atleast 3 and a half months because if you take them away too early they get very viscious... also to teach them how to be potty trained whenever she is about to go to the bathroom put her in the box and whenever her mom is going to the bathroom in the liter box pick her up and bring her over so she can c her mother going

Cats generally wean from their mothers between 6 or 7 weeks, but should probably stay with her until they are around 12 weeks old.

8 weeks but i would leave them together till 10 weeks. When i got my kitten from the pound it was 7 weeks old and it was already toilet trained ( to go in the kitty litter box thingy).
