what are the key texts in the jewish religion???

The key sacred text is Torah - the 5 books of Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy) written by Moses about 3500 years ago.

Next is the Neviim - the Prophets, Joshua, Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc.

And the Kethuvim - the Writings - Psalms, Proverbs, etc.

On top of that is the Oral Torah of Mishnah said to have been passed down orally from Moses.

Then there is the commentary on Mishnah known as Talmud.
