Shy/Tongue-Tied around Women. Help!?

Question

I think I need to hone my social skills around women. I'm an attractive guy but I admit I don't have the most experience around them. One of my short comings is that I can't just walk up and strike a conversation. In fact, I don't hold a conversation too well.

The weirdest thing is that I'm very fluent and engaging in my mind, like when I'm typing on IM or whatever. I'm the type who can write what I feel but I freeze up around women and honestly, I don't feel like myself. I often ask myself, what's wrong with me??

What kind of things can I do to improve my social skills and feel more comfortable towards women? This problem is eating away at me. Please help!!

Maybe you're tongue tied around women BECAUSE you're very fluent and engaging in your mind; meaning, your mind is going a million miles a second and as a gifted person, you're probably working out many scenarios and things to say.

My personal advice? Just slow down. Its very exciting meeting new people and a little stressful for some of us because we wonder how that person will view us, if that person will accept us and so on. I always find that asking them questions about themselves helps me a lot. People LOVE to talk about themselves. Get her to talk about herself. Be sincere about your questions about her, people can tell when you're being fake. Once she starts answering your questions, this will give you the opportunity to build on the communication and help you to sort out what to say and how to say it.

I was the same way around men. It takes practice. I hate to tell u this but the practice comes from interacting with woman. I know it sucks. You might want to go somewhere that your not known and try it there.Like in a bar if your old enough or somewhere young people meet.This way if you really screw up then at least u know you don't have to see that person again. I promise u it does get better with age.Good luck

Chances are it is probably that your hormones are chan----LOL wrong section couldn't resist. There are groups that help with public speaking. You referred to them as women so I assume you are out of school. The Jaycee's helped me with that. Go to stores and ask tellers questions. I was the same way. When you find the right one you will talk your head off. calm down and don't think about it. The only thing in this world that gives you the ability to talk about any thing is experience. Get out there and experience life.

learn confidence. If you feel good on the inside, and you look your personal best on the outside, what more can you do.
get out there and smile, a small wink or wave, or be brave and tell a lady how her blouse color brings out her eyes, or something sweet. but never come on to strong. It can be replusive.
I also for some reason hate when guys tell me I smell good, it kind of creeps me out.

Take it very easy
Some women like shy guys. Dont try veryhard. Say hello. Be brave and dont panic with silence... a smile is more than enough. Really. If she likes you she will talk

just be yourself, and dont worry about things like that I was the same way with guys though but I didnt worry about it ... one day when I least expected it I saw my future husband...
