This is only my opinion but the way I see it...there's only thing more valuable than money and that's freedom. Your saying time is money but the judge sentences time, what he or she is actually doing is giving the ultimate punishment which is taking away someones freedom. No money in the world can buy freedom and as a extra, this sentience is taking this menice of society off the streets, making it safer for all. and yes, the prison system pays convicts money in exchange for labor if you can call 0.15 an hour, money.

Time and money are friend and also enemy.Had Time no money .Had money no Time.Look around you,in shopping centre,coffee shop,in the market..Listen what others said?Rich people don't have time.Poor have time but no money.Time is money is only for the rich and those who earn hourly?Criminal had opt this option.Had money also cannot use.This prove money is not everything and everything cannot had no money.True love need money to grow.It is like watering the plant.Especially in Singapore?No place to grow your food.Love die without food.

That's why the corrupted courts usually try an put you on a program, because they receive more money from the state, and they don't have to care for you. weather you are innocent or not, they don't care, as long as you bargain, and your stuck in their system as an innocent man, and they get Fat.
