I also have discs that are CD-RW, that I want to re record on that closed in the audio recording process and the computer will not recognize them in the CD Drive. What can I do to prepare these discs to be reused again...? I have Roxio

I use CD-RW discs, but not to re-record audio or music. I do reuse them for data. I don't have Roxio ( I have Nero) but the theory is the same. If Roxio does not recognize one in the CD burner drive, then you won't be able to erase or reformat it. Make sure the disc is clean, no fingerprints or marks on the recording side, and if you wipe them, wipe with a soft cloth from the center hole out to the edge, not round and round, or you could score the disc and render it unusuable.

Take the disc out, clean it, close the drive door and try again. If you do this several times and the drive still does not recognize the disc, you won't be able to re-use it.

How old is your Roxio software? My Nero was old, but when I upgraded it, it worked fine. That's one possible solution. Sorry I don't have more.

By the sounds of it you didn't record correctly when you 'closed' the disk. RW disks are a pain to use and not really worth the extra money they cost. You are better off just buying slightly cheaper blank cd's. Roxio (from experience) isn't that good for cd writing anyways, you are much better off with Nero. PM me if you need more help.

Reformat and reuse. When you reuse make sure you set the option to Audio or Data, depending on what you will use the disk for.
