To get off the sugar roller coaster you need to stop eating sugar completely and give your body time to adjust to not having it. Sugar isn't the only bad thing in the foods you've mentioned, they all have a pretty high fat content too. Your body has gotten used to processing sugary, fatty foods so that is what you crave. And if you're buying inexpensive sugary, fatty foods sugar is not the worst of what you're getting. Most of the cheaper processed sweet and snack foods are sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, which has taken over much of the sweetening in America's processed food since the 70s and is blamed by some nutrition experts for the spiraling out of control obesity of Americans. And don't even get me started on hydrogenated oils.
Bottom line is, that if you want to get off the sugar, you need to stop eating it for long enough for your body and your habits to adjust - this will take several weeks to a few months. Be sure to eat enough healthy foods - especially fresh fruits and veges and whole grains so you aren't starving and just fall off the wagon and also take vitamins - Centrum or the Costco equivalent are pretty good and inexpensive. You can get off the sugar. I've done it. More than once. To help yourself appreciate what those foods are doing to your body do some internet research on high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. That'll scare you right off cheap sweets.

^ Listen to her (heart o' gold). I gave her a thumbs up because she knows what she's talking about. Yeah, you've gotta stop eating sugar altogether for a while because it's extremely addictive. Also, it contains empty calories which creates cravings because your body isn't getting all the vitamins it needs. So throw out all the sugary stuff in your kitchen and live on healthy foods for a while.

As a fellow sugar junkie I feel you pain. But there is some help. Splenda. I hate nutrasweet and most sugar substitutes but splenda to me taste 98% like sugar. Plus now days some of the sugar free stuff tastes almost identical to the real thing.
Both my parents were just diagnosed with diabetis so I am trying to kick the habit to avoid becoming one as well. So for right now I try to indulge in real sugar rarely and use splenda as my methodone of choice.

The best way to deal with temptation is to yield to it, so said Mark Twain, and, believe me, sugar is not half as harmful as it is often made out to be, something that tastes so sweet cannot be all that bad.

you should eat more healthy snacks instead or junk food like vegetables, fruit,or grain bars. You might even find something that you will like and it would be healthy.
