"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

So many people want to quote something like John 3:16 ( "for God so loved the world...") but do not think about or refuse to think about John 3: 36 : "He that believes on the Son has everlasting life and he that believes not the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him".
The wrath of God?? yikes!!! Yes, Jesus talked about the wrath of God, the coming fierce judgment of God, the absolute necessity of accepting Him as Savior and Lord.
and Jesus as a prophet? C.S. Lewis, well-known Christian writer and apologist, Cambridge University professor, said this about Jesus: "You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher (or a prophet - my words). He has not left that open to us."
Jesus was either a liar, a lunatic, or He was who He said He was - Lord of Lords and King of Kings. He certainly was no mere prophet of God. His life and actions, His death and resurrection, His words - all point to the undenable fact that He was much much more than any prophet.
That being said, many Christians do say foolish things and hurtful things that seem to alienate people instead of attract people to Christ.
Christians, we must learn to speak the truth in love.
God bless!!

they are probably hurt cuz they probably dont think of Jesus as a prophet, more as the Son of God. God loved us so much that he sent His only begotten Son to die on the cross for our sins. He was beaten and a crown of thorns was placed on His head, He was spat upon, and he was nailed to the cross. see how much He loved us. Jesus is not a prophet, because He is holy and perfect, but basically He is pure, and without sin. so therefore He cannot be compared to a human prophet, because He is God, but He came down in humand form, so we humans when going through trials and tribulations wouldnt be able to say" but you dont understand becauz you have never been here" i hope i cleared a little up for you.

I agree, sister, and that's exactly what is turning so many people away from christianity. It's christians. the way they think they have the right to judge for God and say who's going to hell. Pretty arrogant, if you ask me. Not all of them are this way, but there's so many.
p.s. If you worship God alone, then you ARE "following christ" in the sense that he too, prayed directly to God. Just tell these people you do follow christ's example. And Muhammad's, and Moses, and Abraham...........

I answered one of your previous questions and read the other answers must have missed the ones telling you that you were going to hell.
I really do not think you should refer to people who say hateful things as Christians y not call them "so called Christians" because anyone who is justified and reconciled feels deep hurt if they knowingly cause pain to others, so on the subject of hell such a one would not just bang someone in the head with such a doctrine, at least not until they knew them very well and it was a last ditch effort to wake them up.
These of whom you speak are very likely not only not Christians but are fully aware they are impersonators and do it deliberately to give Jesus a black eye so to speak.

I'm a Christian too, and I have to agree with you. I'm disgusted by the amount of so-called Christians who condemn people to Hell. If they truly believed in God, they'd know that only He has a say in who goes where. There's some good people on this site, but for every five, you'll average one moron. Good luck in your search. ....ISINGMORE...I think you've just shown yourself to be a prime example. You don't know who's going to Hell, and you can't say peoples families will end up there. Are you a Jehovah's Witness?

Look there is a lot about the Love of Jesus and God to people
like John 3;16 says that because of the Love of God to people Jesus as His son came to us and he died on the cross to save us from the hell. But every body has to belong to him to get this safety and to have eternal life

I am a christian. I am sorry that you have been feeling "hurt" by the way you were told. There is only one truth. Jesus Christ is the son of God and the ONLY way to get to heaven is through Him. Respecting Him as a prophet is incorrect. Loving Him as the son of God and knowing that he took away your sins through his sacrifice on the cross is THE WAY to get to Heaven. It is very sad when Christians have many family and friends and we know they are going to Hell. Not trying to scare you. It will happen to many, though. If you want the truth, open the Book. Open your heart, and open the Book.

Not for Christians to condemn. God is the only righteous judge.
However I believe Jesus is the only way to the Father.
John 14: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

GOD is to big to be in only one place and as far as I am concerned there are many paths and ways to get to one's destination. one can walk, ride a bike, a motorcycle, take a train, a plane, a ship, a taxi, etc.etc. and still arrive where one wants to go. arriving at the destination is the important thing -- not how one gets there. to me the only basic difference of one Religion and another are the NAMES they refer to GOD and the Rituals and Ceremonies they use to Adore, Worship, Honor, Praise, Thank, Pray and Petition, Etc. Etc.

Keep the faith Doria; there are many 'innocently ignorant' (supposed) christians among us. Remember this, Satan the devil -- the prince of the power of the air -- used to be an angel in God's company. Today, Satan and his demons are doing their best to reach the unconverted, as well as trying to mystify the converted. Keep the faith .. and always keep this close to your heart: "If God is for us, who can be against us". God will see you through ... to His end, in His time. Continued blessings Lady.
