Jayde, the two year old pittie I just adopted, has a bum eye. I knew about it going in, the vet knows all about it, but the've a 4 day weekend so I can't ask til monday (there's only one vet I can talk to, all the rest only speak Japanese!)

T-Bone, my 11 month old pittie, does insist on licking the bad eye, and I am thinking that *can't* be good for it.

Is it something to worry about?

If it is, how do I keep him off it without crating them?

A dog's saliva is most healing, so let the other dog lick the sore eye. T-Bone is helping it heal. Don't worry too much, the animals feel it and it stresses them out. If you drink tea, have a cup - save the "tea bag" and when it is cooled off, but still a bit warm, clean the Jayde's sore eye with it. Tea has "tantic" acid in it a Natural Healing Agent, you can use a warm teabag for a "sty" in your eye or a "cold sore" on your lip. So do that for Jayde, it will help a lot, do this about 3x a day until you can take him back to the Vet.Your a Good Pet Owner, Good Luck....

Hello Mother Bear! If you feel the need to cover the exposed eye you can get some roll bandage and some 4x4's, fold the 4x4 and place over the eye and proceed to bandage with the roll gauze, rolling around her head, but not too tight. Then take a knee high and make a cap out of it and cover the guaze, this will keep it from falling off, and again make sure it's not to tight. Good luck in your endevors!

Some eyes are quite dull, but it's the expression within them that counts. A twinkly eye is full of mischief and excitement, a dull one is just that - dull. I don't really go for eyes anyway. It's the shape and naturalness of the eyebrow that gets me everytime.
